1471 cases - was 1430 last week - at least numbers seem flat here if not down.

NORTHERN IRELAND WAS THE LAST PART OF THE UK INTO DELTA AND LEAST VACCINATED SO IS BEHIND THE CURVE

7.1% positivity - was 6.7% last week (STILL RISING HERE - SEE ABOVE)

9142 Weekly seven day cases - was 9157 yesterday & 9327 last week. Seems to be flattening too.

80 CARE HOME OUTBREAKS - was 73 yesterday & 45 last week. SADLY THIS IS STILL GOING UP

When is someone going to notice and act???

234 patients - was 244 yesterday & 162 last week - better news here

25 ventilated - up 2 on yesterday & from 5 last week.

I saw an interview with an editor/journo a while back that stated in no uncertain terms that papers that have negative headlines etc sell more copies. so all papers bias to the negative just to sell more papers.

the same way Horror films are popular. the scary is "attractive"

As it was once explained to me by a famous editor and later TV personality when a front page story splashed on a tabloid and that I had been integral in them getting (many years ago) - there are lies and damned lies and statstics - **** the statistics but the more damning the lies the more we sell.

So todays UK deaths with out of hospital England to come are:- 78

Last week it was 73 at this stage and that became 84 after all settings (basically adding England out of hospital - eg care home deaths - to the rest and deducting any double counted in England.

Todays 3 nations cases are 3593 - it was 3967 last week.

England later added 35, 939 to total then 39, 906


That was down from 44, 523 for England the previous Thursday. And 4030 three nations total.

Making a UK total then of 48, 553


Yesterday England added 24, 367 to the 3 nation total of 3367 to give a UK total of 27, 734.

It didn't help that border controls appear to be fixated on illegal immigrants and controls on importing the virus were too little too late. Whilst we were effectively in the EU single market in 2020, all trade came in via specific ports where infection controls could have been put in place much easier than with a land border in the Schengen area, but weren't. Anyway we're now back to being an island nation for trade and have been for 7 months.

If only we were.
We need to look at disease defence and ideally need a shift from RoRo ferries to container traffic to secure the channel border. SImilarly we also need to implement defence against flight transmission via our airports and implement a tag, isolate and monitor solution that can be triggered as soon as problems emerge elsewhere on the world and stop flights if required.
We were useless against both of these and mustn't be next time.

It is ticking up again though in England it seems.

Bit disappointing.
More worrying is the guy from Zoe App thinks the Govt case figures are low due to fewer young people and school children being tested who were previously driving the figures up.
Possibly hospital admissions and deaths are now the key indicators rather than cases.

Healdplace has been posting positivity % so this is bullshit as that has been dropping as well.
