Come on. No one wants to wear masks. But in some circumstances, it is wise to do so. There is nothing wrong with people expressing a desire to be free,

What worries me a little at the moment is that talk of booster vaccines is being downgraded to just those people who are vulnerable due to impaired immune systems. We have to get through this Winter. Our antibody levels are going to drop, the virus is going to gradually adopt all the escape mutations. We really should be being conservative, and looking at the risks. I always thought that Covid-19 will end when we vaccinate into a population rich in antibodies so that we slow viral evolution, but it seems that we are moving away from this idea. That's dangerous imo.

The booster (I'm told) is going to be playing second fiddle to the flu vaccine this autumn. The really big worry is of a massive surge in flu cases this coming season.

Tennessee, where white people constitute approximately 78% of the population- close to the national figure, but when it’s a protest like this, that percentage always seems to be closer to 100.

Will be fascinating to see the breakdown of data when this is over, by state, by race, by education etc.

Have a look at USA daily new infections. Of course it will be self-limiting but some states have quite low levels of vaccination. There are going to be problems.

Israel is already discussing giving a third shot now to people over 40. It recognises that immunity is waning and that it needs to act now to protect people over the winter. It’s also tightening restrictions and the use of passes.

Also being reported that Moderna vaccine is holding up better than Pfizer, though still down, against the Delta variant.

read an article saying AZ vaccine is down to only 14% effective after 6 months so yes many will need a booster pretty soon before we get to the winter esp with restrictions being lifted
