The booster (I'm told) is going to be playing second fiddle to the flu vaccine this autumn. The really big worry is of a massive surge in flu cases this coming season'

Thats what some people in the NHS are talkig about because it is something we are familiar with and can deal with. Boring. I am talking about upgrading our immunity to exit a global pandemic

read an article saying AZ vaccine is down to only 14% effective after 6 months so yes many will need a booster pretty soon before we get to the winter esp with restrictions being lifted
First AZ vaccine in the U.K was administered to the general public on January 4th.

In the U.S., they’re expected to announce in the next 48 hours that they will give a third shot to those with a weak immune system.

Our Winter is now being discussed. Mass purchase of Pfizer jabs for Sep vaccination but some discussion as to the extent of it.

i think they will just do the boosters in the same order of vulnerability as the original vaccine
The country is much more geared up now though than at first so should get through them quicker

Come on. No one wants to wear masks. But in some circumstances, it is wise to do so. There is nothing wrong with people expressing a desire to be free,

What worries me a little at the moment is that talk of booster vaccines is being downgraded to just those people who are vulnerable due to impaired immune systems. We have to get through this Winter. Our antibody levels are going to drop, the virus is going to gradually adopt all the escape mutations. We really should be being conservative, and looking at the risks. I always thought that Covid-19 will end when we vaccinate into a population rich in antibodies so that we slow viral evolution, but it seems that we are moving away from this idea. That's dangerous imo.
So the most talented and experienced scientists and epidemiologists should come on Bluemoon and take your opinion over theirs?

Well, it finally got me. We went back to the office last week and then I was diagnosed by Friday. I have had mercifully relatively mild symptoms, although it's still taken me out of action for work.

Is that right? Only yesterday I was reading his the AZ vaccine could provide protection for years due to T Cells or something.

I am off work for different reasons but the whole of the manual work force side is now off as one tested positive so others having to self isolate.
We had done well as no one had been positive before.
I did suggest splitting the work force into two teams so that we always had one team available, management said no. So now they have no workforce for 10 days !
