ADMISSIONS:- (Always 2 days behind the rest of the data remember)



On MONDAY ADMISSIONS WERE 896 - UP FROM THE PREVIOUS MONDAY WHEN IT WAS 685 & 627 WEEK BEFORE

ALMOST EVERY REGION HAD OVER 100 ADMITTED AND WAS UP WEEK TO WEEK

Regions MON - MON

LONDON 75 - 94

MIDLANDS 154 - 148 - only faller

NE & YORKSHIRE 131 - 233 - BIGGEST RISER BY FAR

NORTH WEST 102 - 132


Others:- East UP 71 - 79, South East UP 77 - 102, South West UP 75 - 118

We’re not living with covid, we’re ignoring it and hoping everything turns out better than the previous times we ignored it. Living with it involves monitoring it and understanding when to take actions known to control it when necessary.

THREE WEEKS AGO NUMBERS WERE FALLING MIDWEEK AS THEY ALWAYS HAD WITH PATIENTS QUICKLY DISCHARGED. LAST WEEK THEY WERE STILL BUT ONLY JUST. TODAY THEY ARE WELL UP AND NUMBERS HAVE NOW BEEN GOING UP INEXORABLY DAY AFTER DAY.

THIS IS A BIG SHIFT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION

PATIENTS 6299 - UP 200 IN 24 HOURS

A WEEK AGO THE RISE WAS JUST 33 FROM 5213 TO 5246.

SO ENGLAND PATIENTS ARE UP 1053 WEEK TO WEEK - ABOUT A 20% INCREASE

WEEK BEFORE THE RISE WAS 237 - ABOUT 6% INCREASE

WEEK BEFORE THEY FELL BY 8 AND WEEK BEFORE FELL BY 389.

AS YOU CAN SEE THE TREND HAS BEEN VERY CLEAR AND ACCELERATING. IF IT CARRIES ON LIKE THIS WE WILL SOON BE IN CLEARLY DIFFICULT TERRITORY AND OVER 10,000 IN ENGLAND ALONE

We aren't ignoring it. We've vaccinated everyone and moved on.

AS YOU SEE THE THREE SMALLER SOUTHERN REGIONS WHICH HAVE BEEN DRIVING CASES IN THE PAST WEEK WITH HUGE NUMBERS OVER 6000 IN THE SW AND 7000 IN THE SE ARE BY FAR THE MAIN CAUSE OF THE PERCENTAGE INCREASE IN HOSPITAL NUMBERS. THOUGH THE ACTUAL NUMBERS ARE QUITE SIMILAR TO THE MUCH BIGGER REGIONS.

THE FOUR LARGE REGIONS ARE MUCH THE SAME AS ONE ANOTHER AND HALF THE RISE OF THOSE REGIONS ABOVE.

THE EXCEPTION BEING LONDON THAT HAS THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE BIG AREAS WITH SLIGHTLY LOWER NUMBERS AND HAS ONLY ONE MORE PATIENT IN THAN THE NORTH WEST AS OF TODAY

You think one round of vaccines and that’s it? It was never going to be that. Life doesn’t go on for some people, it repeats itself or sometimes worse and the inactivity of others is prolonging that.

Quite possibly. I would expect mask waring to be made mandatory on public transport and in unventilated spaces if numbers don't plateau.
