Been correct for the last 10 months mate, admit was wrong at the start didn’t think it would be a bad as it was.

You’ll find that the people you are backing up are the ones who were creaming their pants saying cases were rising exponentially over and over again only to be wrong. So many on here seem to want restrictions, I don’t get it.
The severity in illness is likely to reduce as population exposure increases but we can’t just play laissez faire with an illness that is killing 150 per day in the UK. This will come under control when we have population immunity but it’s not a simple problem. At one stage we thought herd immunity was just a steady process of accrual but now 93% of the English adults test positive for Covid antibodies and yet the virus still spreads.

It will become endemic, if it hasn't already. People are dying of cancer and many other untreated illnesses/conditions as the world and his dog focuses on nothing other than Covid19, we still struggle to see a GP here, usually told to go to hospital for triage - and we wonder why the hospitals are struggling - I digress.

Whilst I've had 2 jabs, I disagree entirely with the notion of forcing people to have the jab, as will be happening in Austria and no doubt many others, soon. I've said this many times, but in 2 years of this, I've known one person being poorly enough to go to hospital (out and fine now) and I've worked through it, alongside people from all over the country.

Now, I can accept that I may well have been lucky, so far, but it's harder to believe that just about everyone else at work was lucky too, for 2 years.

In a nutshell, something seems off and I'm dithering about if and when to get the booster.

Where we live here in SE Spain our daily figure yesterday for Thursday shows our town of 20k+ population to be 0 per 100k over the last 14 days. We are not the only town with that figure in our Province yet must continue to wear masks in all public places.including streets.
We are not restricted traffic wise from other parts of Spain but vaccine take-up has been very high with our town being the central place for other municipalities in our area.

Would we be safe to relax our mask wearing regs now do you think?

I'm like you I just don't agree with this bullying and apartheid system for those not wanting the jab and I know some on this thread will pile in and say fuck them but it doesn't sit easy with me. I've had all mine including the booster yesterday so I'm not anti vacc by any means. Having the jab doesn't stop me catching it or spreading it but will hopefully stop me ending up six feet under if I do. If that's the case why am I allowed to go to concerns, pubs, on holiday etcetera when I've just as much chance of catching and spreading it as somebody unjabbed who isn't? If it kills them for being unjabbed then that's their look out.

It's the same as bloody lockdowns, this has to stop now. People should have a choice. Feel unsafe? Stay indoors. We can't keep on imposing martial law on civilisation willy nilly. Anyone doubting it's martial law only needs to look at Holland where they are firing live rounds at their citizens. Really? In bloody Holland??? Austria banning sections of its population from actually living a life. What next; internment camps??? I don't like where all this appears to be heading.

Not really. It goes beyond that I think. An unvaccinated person has a much higher chance of getting ill and dying than a vaccinated person does, which as you say is their look out.

However, the problem is that there is also a much higher possibility of those unvaccinated people needing hospitalisation, which puts extra pressure on the health service and means that there aren't the resources to deal with serious illnesses other than Covid. That then has serious consequences for other people and is why I believe not being vaccinated (by choice) is extremely selfish.

I hope we follow Austria's example with mandatory vaccination but that is very unlikely.

I couldn't agree more, also a lot of people seem to like lockdowns and working from home for entirely selfish reasons, not all by any means of course.

As for internment camps, a few months ago I would have laughed at the notion, now I wouldn't be surprised if it were to happen. We're living in very worrying times.

Man down. Tested negative the past two days but today came up positive today. Did another also positive.
Had a temperature overnight on Wednesday/ Thursday morning 37.9. That's gone now got a snotty nose and croaky throat. Other than that fine. Now booking a PCR test.

Yep it kicked off last night in Rotterdam. Not far from me actually. Heard gun shots but thought they were fireworks. This morning drove through central, it's a mess man.
