I didn't say they did, the message I replied to said that it was hoped the UK higher vaccination rate would slow the growth. They certainly made out at the start it would reduce transmission, I'm dubious whether this is the case at all.

No doubting they stop you getting seriously ill by the way.

I was posting in agreement with you mate.

It’s not about wallowing. Some people can take bad news better than others.

Statisticians are able to process data without mental health deterioration.

Just because some people can’t handle being told potential bad news, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be said.
Some people do seem to focus more on any potential bad news while possibly overlooking potential good news (and vice versa too of course). I guess it depends if the person is of a more optimistic or pessimistic mindset.

These figures don’t appear too bad, compared to other days, but some reports from Gauteng mention hospitalizations and ICU figures inching up.

Who was that kid on this thread who seemed to be really struggling early on? Think he was 45 and single and used to be really down when Covid first started?

Stocks and shares shooting up this week and so is oil.

Does somebody know something about this varient that we don't?
I was glad to see the stocks rise. There’s clearly some optimism in the markets. Also, as some sectors might struggle others can prosper. Obviously science and research but an awful lot of buildings seem to be popping up (after the delays of the initial lockdown).
