Not all down to conditions not treated though some will be probably, short staff and GPs not opening up. Bed blocking due to lack of care staff in the homes and community causing many problems in hospitals too.
Yeah not far off 1% year, so the 908 looked odd to me.It's more like 1,500 deaths per day on average and this rises a little in mid-winter.
Death figures in the UK to become horribly skewed in January.
908 people die a day on average in the UK.Omicron surge likely to make data on Covid deaths very unreliable – here's why
Variant could skew hospital and deaths figures to the point that they become largely useless in driving policywww.telegraph.co.uk
If a large number of these catch Covid then they will be counted as Covid deaths. Even if it was just a sniffle

Hope they all have a bad coldA further 88,376 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in the UK
What are we talking about? Flu, Pneumonia? It's more like 1,500 deaths per day on average and this rises a little in mid-winter.
The only way this will become more of a problem with omicron is if it's factors less severe. In which case, it won't be a problem. Because hospital numbers won't go up.
