Quick (possibly dumb) question here.
If you were exposed to the virus, how long after would you start to show symptoms (if you do show any) and how long after would it show up on a test?
Thanks

I think it is time for a legitmate debate about the future of health care. Despite the nostalgia, the NHS is not "the best health system in the world." None of the deflection tactics, getting people to bang pots and pans etc etc, alters the statistics.I support the NHS but it must be totally modernised and reformed.
It may well be the best system, but if people cannot access it when they need it, then it might not be.

In the Netherlands, the average health insurance contribution each month is over 100 pounds per person, and almost everyone has to contribute. That comes on top of comparatively higher state taxes as well. Hard for any political party to sell something similar in the U.K.

Anyone get a lot of phlegm with covid? I'm coughing up some mid-green gunk. Wasn't expecting that at all.
If it was COVID “Omnicron” that I had very recently (wife was sure I had) I had loads of phlegm , nose constantly running, I just stuffed rolled up tissues up me nostrils lol..

It's just completely ridiculous this is, it's almost they want a deep dark recession because its on its way, and a very tough 1 at that, covid will be the least of people's worries soon
Essentially our choice is:

Lots of people get Covid (probably everyone eventually); or

Lots of people get Covid (probably everyone eventually), medical tyranny and economic recession.

It can be anywhere between 1 - 14 days for symptoms, average is about 5 days.
Apparenlty you can show on a test ( and spread it ) 2 days before symptoms so if you go by averages you would probably show up at about day 2/3.

but no hard and fast rule.

Not sure on tests, probably 3+ days, at a guess.

Keep an eye on the number of Omicron cases this week and you will have your answer.
The jury is still out on how ill, or in what numbers, people will get, but that's where the concern lies.
It's fine for us plebs to be dismissive of how serious it may or may not be, it's not if you are the Chief Medical Officer or a cabinet minister having to make the decisions.
But is south Africa they have seen the results and we are getting the results here now, if ur vaccinated there is very little chance of you becoming severely ill, if I ran a pub or restaurant or a shop in the city or cafe, I'd be in despair now I really would

Out of curiosity, What do you personally think will happen if the NHS gets overrun?
