how sensible.

Indeed.

Out of interest I had a look at their international flight arrivals into Auckland tomorrow (well, kinda today/now for us)
Just 7 flights due to land all day, and 3 of them are from Australia (Doha already arrived, plus Dubai, Shanghai and Singapore being the others)

Every single person on those flights is going into isolation for 14 days minimum.

I'm not sure how many international flights Auckland receives on a normal day but given it's the main entry/exit point for the country you'd assume dozens, from various places across Asia, Middle East, south Pacific, Australia and north and south America.

Due to their (correct) strict arrival measures, it's now only a handful of planes a day and even those are unlikely to be fully occupied.

Which puts them in the envious position of being able to lead a relatively normal life and not have to rush around like headless chickens getting the vaccines out ASAP.

We have well and truly fucked it.

Whilst the "numbers in hospital" continues to go up, there is a small sign that the rate of "people admitted to hospital" has perhaps turned the corner.

12th - 4538
13th - 4182
14th - 3984 (last day of data, 14 up on the same day a week earlier)
Except that is NOT the last day of data. I have posted the data for the 2 days since then yesterday and the day before and I am about to post the England data for today.

I just saw the ITV news claim the figure on the dashboard of Gov UK as the numbers in hospital today. 37, 745.

Its isnt.

Please do not think I am getting at you over this. I an not. The responsibility lies with the data being given late and out of date on the flagship government site when it is not necessary to be up to two or three days out of date in what they report.

The tardiness of reporting as with the testing data is a problem because it suggests being late makes no differences.

But as we saw with measures being late can be disastrous.

Just watching Granada reports in the hospitals now. It’s awful seeing how devastating how bad this is. Young and healthy people in hospital, and there are still idiots who don’t believe this is real

My best mate got tested at weekend and is positive. He is 30 and Healthy and it’s knocked him completely out. Not serious enough for hospital but he said it’s nothing like he has ever had before.

It’s frightening right now

Fair enough, but I just thought it looked like possible positive news, I can only look at the .gov.uk page and see the "data", so don't know where you are seeing different days numbers ?

But to me,trying to see it in as simplistic way as possible.I ask HOW are people contracting it.

Take this situation with your best mate,(and God hope he makes a full and speedy recovery),I wonder if he knows how he could have caught it.

They interview all these in hospital, who all repeat the same line day in day out,be careful, you don't want to get this, look at me,stay safe, you don't want to get it.

I get that and understand why it is said, but why are they not asked well Sir / Madam where do you think you might have caught this disease, have you worn a mask ?,have you been to XYZ,just where did you think you caught it.

To me the answers to these questions will make those who have not caught it to potenially change their ways, surely

I know you can Cleavers. That was my point. Apologies if it felt like I was attacking you as I can see that it might have come over in my frustration over the dta - but I wasn't. My concern is elsewhere.

You did not do anything wrong.

The data has no need to be so out of of date but constantly is. Journalists are not asking why or even noticing I suspect and they ought to be as that is what they get paid to do.

That data is out there - why I was able to post it in here 24 and 48 hours ago and have an extra day ready to post now.

I do not see why Gov UK are so lax about key information.

There are 1411 more in England hospitals alone than that data. And Scotland is up by 99 as we have known since 12.15 this afternoon. As for the ventilalators these are up by 219 in those days in England alone.

I know these are only numbers and nothing was wrong at all in the gist of that post you made Cleavers.

But as you can see with my concerns earlier over the misleading way missing the positivity and test data leads trhe media in one direction not the other we should be expecting our public data base to at least be up to date to yesterday not 3 days ago if the media are going to use it to build stories as they do.

I will stop obsessing over it, I have got a bit carried away today I confess. Apologies. Just one of those bugbears, No reason I should make yor suffer over it. My bad.

Has anyone on here experiences Covid Toes and what to expect if you have it?
Yeah, I had it. It's just like scraping your knuckles against a wall (or the ground) in many ways. Like Eczema in many ways (according to a friend who has had both).
Get a dermatological cream from your doctor like diprobase or dermal 500 to stop your skin drying out and cracking.
