The bullshit gets to me sometimes.

ah ok, thanks for putting me right. Still the majority tho.nope. 5 of them had had the 1st shot. The rest were eligible.
thats a real tough one. its understandable that you feel that way. People who dont want the vaccine often cant see the bigger picture ie its not just about them.I play in a band with 3 other people. I am in my 60's and the others are in their 40's, early 50's. At practice this week (outside) the youngest member (40ish) said he hadn't been vaccinated and had no intention of being vaccinated. I find that hard to deal with as the rest of us work (or did work) in the NHS. His attitude doesn't surprise me as him and his wife are both 'Hippies'. I am finding that this has altered how I feel about him and makes me feel like we can no longer be mates. AIBU ?
Its not a conspiracy theory to suggest that power is a corrupting influence and those who attain more of it become less likely to want to relinquish it.Grow up and quit your whining and conspiracy theories.
You sound like a toddler who's been told they can't have their sweets.

I find that very hard to believe to be honest, these people are scientists not power hungry politicians.Yep and don't get me going about SAGE, think their an absolute disgrace to be honest.
This is their once in a lifetime opportunity to wield power and instil fear into people and they simply don't want to relinquish it.
That's the truth.
Personally the lifting of restrictions in June wouldn’t have made a massive difference to me. But my kids have festivals and gigs booked over the summer, and it’s disappointing and sad that this probably won’t happen. And for those in the events industry it must be a real kick in the teeth. It’s not the end of the world. But it is frustrating as it was so avoidable if people had just done as they were asked and stayed in the UK.Fucking hell - reading the last few pages, it seems this thread has been invaded by a load of Ian Browns. People need to stop flapping. There may be a delay in the lifting of restrictions on June 21st but that doesn’t mean to say we’re going back into lockdown for fuck’s sake. More restrictions were lifted yesterday and in case some of you have missed it, pretty much everything is back open now. You can go for a pint indoors and outdoors. You can go for a meal at your favourite restaurant. Indoors. Football clubs have welcomed fans back, albeit with a reduced capacity, but it’s a start and the numbers will be increased over time. Same with rugby league and horse racing yesterday. Over 20,000 fans were allowed inside Wembley on Saturday for the FA Cup final. Thousands of City fans have booked flights to Portugal and accommodation for the Champions League final the weekend after next. This country now has more things open than pretty much any other country in Europe yet despite all that there are people out there who actually think we’re going to be locked down again. Jesus wept!

Yeah, festivals and gigs (along with nightclubs) are just about the only things that will be hit if the June 21st plans don't come off. I still wouldn't write them off though. Glastonbury was cancelled months ago probably because it's one of the earlier ones in the calendar but the later ones such as Leeds/Reading in late August may well still go ahead. I've got tickets for The Killers at LCCC - the gig was originally supposed to be last June, then postponed to this June, and now postponed until next June! Also got tickets for Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott at Castlefield - originally scheduled for last July, then postponed until this July, and then postponed until September 23rd. I'd imagine that will probably still happen but the selfish twat inside me wants it postponed again because I'm due to go to Bilbao on September 22nd for my delayed 50th birthday jolly!Personally the lifting of restrictions in June wouldn’t have made a massive difference to me. It's definitely a conspiracy theory to suggest that a diverse group of scientists, reporting facts entirely in line with overall scientific consensus are having a "once in a lifetime opportunity to wield power and instil fear into people and they simply don't want to relinquish it."
I mean, if SAGE were way off beam compared to other science, fair enough. But that's simply not the case.
I’ve tickets for Paul Heaton at Castlefield too. Twice delayed. So hoping that goes ahead. It’s a summer regular!! My son is due to go to Kendal Calling, late July. Beatherder, which he had tickets for, has already been cancelled. I can’t see Kendal happening, although I can’t help thinking the risk, with it all being outside, is small.Yeah, festivals and gigs (along with nightclubs) are just about the only things that will be hit if the June 21st plans don't come off.
