The vaccine take up is low..

Is it low? Not seen figures for weeks but the ones I did, think the take up was still above what they originally expected the overall take up to be. Just not as high as the none ethnic take up.
Obviously need it to be higher and encourage more but not sure its low.

Last time I looked vaccine take up was lowest in the black community, then pakistani and Bangladeshi. That could of changed by now.

“adapt or die” is a term for a reason throughout all areas of life, climate, viruses, businesses etc.

The 21st June was a provisional date and they’ve said all along that it is hoped that they would be able to remove all restrictions by then (data not dates etc). I feel like some see it as if some magical klaxon is going to go off in every town on the 21st marking virus VE day and it’s all over.

Every sympathy with the hospitality and travel industries. Yet again they are going to be shafted by the government it seems.
This rule of 6 is depressing and makes nights out not worth it for a lot of people.
When will they stop moving the sodding goalposts?

We’ve been told all along that these are not fixed dates and are subject to change. It’s the daft fuckers in the general public who fabricate these notions that 21st June means 21st June.

If it was one variant that wasn’t mutating and every single person was taking up the vaccine, we’d have no problem, we could get some proper goalposts set up. But that’s not that case so the jumpers for goalposts might have to move, or might not.

A year ago , we could only dream of a Vaccine to help defeat this virus - now were a few weeks away from end of all restrictions and people are moaning because it might be a little bit longer.

The media don't help in this, one minute they are pushing for the lifting of restrictions, the next it's we need to carry on with them to reduce the spread.
Also and perhaps this is me being a bit thick but apparently there was a comment this morning on the radio from one professor that the vaccines were masking the spread of the new variant. Isn't that what they are supposed to do? or am I missing the point?

Deepti Gurdasani was on BBC news earlier. She suggests that there shouldn't even be a question surrounding delaying opening from June 21st and regardless, even leaving things exactly as they are now, hospitals are about to become more full than they were in January. A really bleak picture.

The rules are daft anyway. Out in Manchester Saturday, they were relatively strict. Track and Trace in place. Travelling on the train before and after....absolute joke. Trains were rammed with people stood in aisles. Why is there not track and trace for them if there is for bars? I don’t get it. If someone with Covid sneezed in that carriage then 30/40 people would have it with no one having any clue. Today in the Lakes! Wow. So many people around. All mingling in Tesco extra, bars, restaurants. If numbers don’t spike after this weekend I will be amazed.

Not been funny or anything but I never expected June 21st at all and expect step 3 to go backwards. Having said that, if she’s genuinely insisting that we'll be back into months long lockdown and the hospitals will be worse than January after 39 million people have had 1 jab and 25 million have had 2 we may as well hold our hands up and admit this virus has got our number. Nothing but permanent restrictions seem to be good enough. Fucking sick of existing.

Its nuts. The pub I was in on Saturday night for the game had about 200 in, probably from 100 plus households. No one was sat more than half a metre from the next person. There was no track and trace. They must know that this is going on.
