We are booked to spend a fornight with my cousin and her family at their house in Perth, Scotland, last week in July.

Is she saying Scots can't come down to Manchester, but can't stop Mancs going up there?

We will be two households combined of eight, as per the restrictions.

I'm worried will they be using number player recognition as my reg starts MX?

It's an essentially journey in that it will be out first break anywhere for two years :(

We really need this and we're double jabbed.
Number plate recognition like that would be the most arbitrary abuse of power so far i think, added to an ever growing list.

British? These types of morons are a worldwide phenomenon. Conspiracy nutters, trapped in an online world of lies. It comes from America mostly, but there are many people worldwide from Aus to Africa to France who believe in and peddle this nonsense.

Yes, there are morons everywhere, sadly.

This article was trying to paint the dickhead in a good light.

''Expat''
''Doesn't believe in it''
'Thinks masks are useless'

This twat has been in Singapore since 2017.

If he thinks he can get away with acting the **** there, in Singapore of all places, because he ''doesn't believe in it'', then that is British exceptionalism at its finest.

I'm not calling him out for being a conspiracy twat (even though he clearly is), it's more that he think he can break the laws of the local land and escape punishment because reasons.

Sure they already use it mate, I have pals in the police, although it is mainly used for tracking down terrorist suspects.

NPR is on all the ring roads and in every town centre, no doubt about it.

Isn't it right the UK has the most surveillance cameras in the world, per capita?

Knowing my luck, get pulled at Gretna Green or Abington Services going for a piss (just read that back, leaves a lot to the imagination, eh!)

I meant to know youre from manchester with a car registered here. To use an M number plate as an excuse to pull a car over is utter fucking stasi bollocks and Orwellian nonsense of the highest order.

Absolutely no way they could get away with that, just cause and everything.

Strictly speaking I am in Oldham, not that I ever admit it, but I just changed my address on Booking.com to say Oldham rather than Manchester! So as it stands I can travel as Greater Manchester it is advisory only except for Manchester and Salford which is banned. You could consider renting a car but I imagine ANPR would have to be configured to flag up Manchester addresses which I doubt they would do.

Technically I live in the Borough of Trafford, so Greater Manchester applies?

I still get post with Sale/Alty, with Cheshire on it!

My sister travelled from Perthshire to Huddersfield and back every other week from May 2020 to March 2021 to visit our terminally ill mother. She was never stopped, even though at the height of the pandemic she was often the only person on the road.

What she’s presumably trying to say is both.….
Non-essential travel between Scotland and Manchester and Salford will be banned from Monday, is the absolute bollocks she’s come out with.
It’s yet more evidence of the more power people are given the more power they seek and it needs to stop and stop soon. We’ve ceded so much power to governments over the last 18 months, along with an unelected army of officials and advisors, and if we aren‘t careful, we won’t get all of them back. Always beware governments that take away liberties to ‘protect the people’….

Thanks mate. Sorry you guys had to go through that, let alone with the fear of being pulled over for it.

GM had another good day

Down 187 on yesterday to 974.

But NW fell today by 431 to 2107 - so GM slightly below the 50% fall expected. But not by much.

Week to week it is better though:

GM is down 63 on last Sunday whereas the NW was down wk to wk just 27 - so Greater Manchester fell by more than double the entire NW week to week drop.

This has been happening all week so it is clear GM are bit by bit getting this under control.

Definitely. This is what it states below. Unless they change it to Greater Manchester you’re good to go.

The current travel restrictions between Scotland (except any areas in Level 3 or Level 4) and the CTA are as follows:

England – travel to and from Blackburn with Darwen and Bolton is only allowed for permitted reasons. Travel to and from Manchester and Salford is only allowed for permitted reasons from Monday 21 June 2021. There is a detailed list of examples of reasonable excuses in the regulations. No travel restrictions elsewhere in England.

GM highlights:

Only Manchester, Salford and Wigan over 100. But both the others bar Salford well down. And Salford stayed on 114 as yesterday. Wigan just pipped them on 116 and Manchester was finally sub 300 AND down week to week. Wigan down wk to wk too and Salford up but just by 1 from last Sunday.

Oldham and Tameside both sub 50 today - lowest in 10 days/two weeks.

Stockport falls again to 62. Its lowest number in nearly 3 weeks.

Just found this quote too;

Sturgeon added: “Anyone travelling elsewhere in the Greater Manchester or the Lancashire area, I’d ask you to think carefully about whether your journey is really necessary because we do see cases rising across that region.”

Cheers Nicola.

Well I have thought about it, also legislating for all the pissed-up Scots that went to the Rangers get-together and then came down in their droves to Blackpool during the Glasgow holidays, I've decided it's necessary based on the below...

We are double jabbed.

We continue to stick to social distance rules and wear masks when inside shops.

We had one day out on St Anne's beach about 14 months ago.

It's fucking essential to my family to start living again!

Bloody go pal after the absolute horror show you've all been through over the last 18 months don't let anybody deny you the opportunity of some much needed relief.

And if for any reason they stop you ill be more than happy to pay your fine. In 10ps, to the nearest copper I can find.
