Some pretty worrying numbers tonight. North West shot up to 6487 - highest yet and 2500 up from where it was for several days up to 2 or 3 days ago,

Bolton too over 200 cases today, Highest since late May.

It'll soon be freedom day

Greater Manchester scary numbers as you might expect,

Only 4 of the 10 boroughs had Pop Score rises LESS than 100! That is unprecedented, Everywhere suddenly off the charts today.

Oldham's Pop Score rise today of 126 is in the territory that those boroughs in Kent were scoring in January, When they had Pop Score numbers over 1000. Double where Bolton ever got in April,

Bury was 'lowest' today with 138 cases and a Pop Rise of 'just' 67. Allbeit both these are the highest here in many months.

It was the ONLY borough NOT to top 200 cases today, Though Bolton's 202 and Stockport's 210 were the lowest of the high. Indeed despite that 210 Stockport actually went another 36 Pop Score points ahead of Trafford in one leap,

Bolton, up 70, Stockport up 71 and Manchester up 90 were the only places not to rise by 3 figure Pop Score numbers today. Manchester actually JUST avoided staying under 500 cases (on 499) which was the only number down week to week (from 520).

Wigan topped 350, Oldham just one shy of 300 and Trafford over 250,

I did not see these numbers coming,

No other region jumped up as much as the North West today,

Indeed bad as these GM numbers are they are a bit DOWN on the average expected given the rises for the rest of the NW both day to day and week to week.

GM up day to day 503 to 2727 - highest in many moons. Indeed GM was HIGHER on its own than 3 of the 9 England regions today,

But NW day to day was up 1284 so GM was again not the main driver,

Week to week GM was up 510 - compared with the NW rise of 1454 - so well below the expected number.

In other words - bad as these were in GM - they are actually better than the region itself did as has been true for some time now,

By the way a 'technical issue' means the hospital numbers for England will not now appear until Monday.

Unfortunate timing for what may be one of the most important set of numbers. Given that they were ordered to wind down posting numbers over the weekend a few months back when we looked out of trouble.

But waiting 4 days is not what we need right now.

Though the England hospital admissions number (which is from Wednesday) is available. This is 509.

It has been going up this week:

295 - 307 - 323 - 396 - 416 - 458 - 509

Doesn’t really matter, policy isn’t changing anytime soon so delays in data won’t make any difference.

509 according to The Sun.

I would refer you to my reply above to the Rt. Hon. Gentleman @Rammy Blue .

It was in reply to your who let it in question. It might have been delayed slightly but it was always coming here in force.

Not that I believe that you care a great deal about it, other than using it as as opportunity to politically point score.

That's just the admissions number from Wednesday I posted above They are always 2 days behind the other hospital numbers. Not fully sure why.

No data from today is available as it usually is.
Ah, it just said breaking news so assumed it was today.

It came from India, lol, do you think we are the only country who let some Indians in?
I checked a while back, we have more annual arrivals from the subcontinent than most of Europe combined - and way more English landing in Europe than other non-EU countries. It's pretty likely to be largely down to that, although I imagine Turkey's role as a hub between Asia and Europe also played a part.
No but we have probably the biggest Indian Community in Europe, so should have followed the science and numbers and acted sooner.
It's miles bigger. Germany has the second largest number or residents of Indian descent - around 110,000. The UK has way over a million.

Ah, it just said breaking news so assumed it was today.
It was only released today but not as usual with the numbers in hospital and on ventilators. But is always 2 days older than that data every day. Not sure why it takes two days to count that number. I am assuming awaiting test results to be sure the patient IS a covid admission not just suspected,

I shouldn’t have doubted you, lol. As if you wouldn’t be ahead of the media!

Full GM details:

Total cases 2717 - UP 493 on Yesterday - from NW RISE of1284

Quite a bit under the expected par of 642.

Wk to wk UP 500 when the NW ROSE by 1454 . So GM doing much better here well under 50% par of 727.

BOROUGH / CASES TODAY / V YESTERDAY / V LAST WEEK

BOLTON 202 / UP 65 / UP 52

BURY 128 / UP 7 / UP 13

MANCHESTER 499 / UP 74 / DOWN 21

OLDHAM 299 / UP 40 / UP 69

ROCHDALE 266 / UP 72 / UP 89

SALFORD 268 / UP 27 / UP 55

STOCKPORT 210 / UP 20 / UP 23

TAMESIDE 237 / UP 58 / UP 75

TRAFFORD 254 / UP 55 / UP 68

WIGAN 354 / UP 75 / UP 77

Only Manchester down week to week and a lot of big rises.

Bury and Stockport had the best worst days up the least,

Wigan up to its highest yet - again.

Stockport's numbers were again low relative to Trafford and this time by the biggest margin ever - extended by another big chunk their lead over Trafford for best overall Pop Score as Trafford had yet another bad day,

Not that hard unfortunately. But they were not wrong in that it was reported today and the 'latest' and may not even have realised it was 2 days old. You do have to look closely to spot that, I missed it myself in the early days. They do not exactly draw attention to the difference unless you cross check the dates.

Europe is about to enter the furnace.... Take good care of your health and immune system - aside from rampant Delta, a million other things will be back in circulation.

I've had a month of gastric bugs, conjunctivitis, 'colds without phlegm', and to top it all woke up today to find I appeared to be wearing a huge fucking extremely prominent ringworm medallion around my neck.

Greater Manchester

Weekly total cases:-

Bury 718, Bolton 934 , Tameside 1079, Stockport 1104 , Rochdale 1238, Trafford 1239 , Salford 1352, Oldham 1460, Wigan 1806, Manchester 2752

Bury and Bolton now only the only boroughs under four figures. May just be Bury at todays numbers cone tomorrow, Hard to recall several were under 100 not much over a month ago.
