The decision to appoint a Heakth Secretary who believes ending restrictions reduces pressure on the NHS is looking very dodgy.
I still wonder whether that video entering the public domain and precipitating the removal of Hancock, who sided with the scientists against unilaterally lifting all restrictions, was a coincidence. I’m sure it was…

Yes I’ve been following your posts. And I may be wrong and kids may be flocking to nightclubs on Monday night. I just don’t get that vibe. In September, when unis are back, is a different story.
True, I don’t see the U.K. having quite as precipitous a climb in its case figures as the Netherlands either, more incremental jumps over the subsequent weeks. You also have a goodly many who’ll still wear face masks, whereas seeing one here now has all the novelty of seeing a new car registration on September 1st!

From an article in the Times.

”The problem with a pandemic is that its not like a tap you can turn off” said Professor Lucy Easthope of Durham University , who specialises in disaster response. “When planning for a pandemic it is generally accepted that the effects will last for between ten and 15 years. I don’t think we’ve been honest with the public about this“.

10 to 15 years?

That really doesn’t seem unreasonable as she’s talking about its effects, presumably from a disaster perspective. If we look at the current economic and social upheaval around the world, and then consider how long it’s taking to get vaccinations to all countries, then that timeframe seems depressing but understandable.

FFS, I’m positive now, lol.

Thought I felt a bit lacking in energy when I played golf this morning, played well though haha. Maybe covid is good for my swing.

Had a bit of sinusitis, and just got a bit more snotty as the day has gone on.

Thought I’d do a lateral flow as we were supposed to be going to look at kitchens this evening, seemed like no line then just been back to check and it’s now got one.

Load of shite, might have had it a while and this is end of it, considering my kids tested positive 12 days ago.

All five of us have the virus so I can give a fairly good description of how ill it makes you. I'd describe it as worse than a heavy cold but not as bad as influenza. It's not pleasant and we are nowhere near OK for work/school but none of us are anywhere near to hospitalisation. The family ages are me (51), my wife (47), both healthy and 2xjabbed. Kids are 15,13 and 13.

It's a fucking strange illness I must say. The overriding symptom is probably a continual headache which I've had for well over a week. I burnt the roof of my mouth a fortnight ago and it turned into a big ulcer which hasnt gone. Retrospectively I think that was the very first symptom. My son also has ulcers on his tongue and around his mouth. I tweaked two muscles in my wrists in the gym and the aching won't go away. It's almost like it attacks the weak points in your body. We are all coughing and sneezing and struggling to sleep.
I’m assuming both your double jabs were more than 2 weeks ago? Had a bad headache after both Pfizer jabs for the evening - couldn’t be doing that for a few weeks but better than hoppy obviously!

hope you all recover soon

Hope you stay ok mate.

you can tell just by anecdotal evidence this thing is sweeping through the country now and figures are going to go through the roof. I cannot see any situation where there isn’t another lockdown.

It’s bizarre, how the fuck can I have 2 kids with it in the house where first one was probably infectious over 2 weeks ago, and then now I test positive, lol.

Missus is rolling her eyes as she’s thinking it’s bound to be her next.

Ive just ordered a vindaloo and am cracking into some beers, no idea how long I’ll have taste buds for so may as well get leathered tonight.

Also, I’ve played footy twice this week, including last night, and been feeling fit as a fiddle, and did spin on Tuesday and felt bang on. Literally just this morning where I felt lacking in energy playing golf, put it down to it being so humid but obviously was covid kicking in.

I was told to pass that off as just over exercising! Aches etc

Hope your all better.

As I said to someone else today there is no logic as to how people are becoming infected.
Look after yourself mate
