Because the vaccine reduces the chances of being hospitalised by 90%. If EVERYONE was fully vaccinated then we wouldn’t be seeing 7,000 In Hospital clogging up the NHS, we’d be seeing closer to 700.
The government really don’t give a fuck if you’re diagnosed positive with covid and feel like shit for a week, they’d never consider a lockdown to prevent that. They lockdown because they don’t want hospitals to be overcrowded during their busiest period of the year.
How do people still not get this when we are two years into a pandemic?
Anti-vaxxers are wholly to blame for any new restrictions brought in. Hopefully they’ll be the ones that suffer the most from them (in terms of being unable to attend games/nights out etc etc).
It’s a shame that the NHS has a finite number of beds and that we do have to worry about the staff being overstretched as if everything else was equal, I’d just let the anti-vaxxers deal with the consequences of their own stupidity or refuse them NHS funded treatment for covid. Fuck em would be my advice.
