been feeling pretty rough that past week, not bed ridden but strange symptoms, bit of a cold, the trots, arching arms for a night weirdly, extreme fatigue and headaches. But tested negative on LFT for five days. I'm triple jabbed so wondered if being so renders your symptoms to be mild so you don't test positive on LFT?. I know a couple of people who have had similar symptoms and have been testing negative one with random positive tests.
Last 2 / 3 days ive been absolutely wiped out. Bit of a cold but just constantly feel like i could crawl into bed and sleep for days. I've tested negative, now triple jabbed but defo something not quite right with me.

at under 30, about 1 in 20k chance of dying of Covid, 1 in 250k of Dying from the vaccine.

I cant find exact odd of being hospitalised but under 18's but they a seem to be about 3% of hospitalisation. so not the smallest risk really.

Odds of hospitalisation from the vaccines is about 1 in 100k.

Anyone playing the percentage game properly will get the vaccine hands down.
Anyone with a brain should really get the Vaccine. It just shows how many fuckin Empytheads we have walking among us.

It's all well and good people quoting 99%+ survival rates from Covid. Rabies has the highest mortality rate on earth with a less than 1% survival rate but hardly any fucker gets it in developed countries and the last recorded case in the UK that originated in the UK was 119 years ago. Contrast with Covid where there have been around 11 million confirmed cases in the UK in less than 2 years and it's likely that it's getting on for twice that many. 99% survival rates are great for viruses that hardly anyone catches but catastrophic when every man and his dog is catching it. If these fuckwits were put in a building with 1000 other people and told that 10 of them wouldn't be getting out alive but no-one knew who those 10 people are going to be, I bet they wouldn't be quite so flippant about it as they are about Covid.

Hope she feels better soon.

I was in a house of 4 for a weekend October of 2020. They all got Covid within just a few days of each other, but I didn't. I did a test when their results were known but mine was negative.
Back in July,my wife and daughter both tested positive and was ill with it for about a week.
I done a LFT as obviously we all in the same house, and in regular contact.
Test was negative......couple of days later I went to the Etihad for a PCR,which also came back negative......bizarre.

Yeah, I was sure mine would be positive. I even thought I had it but was showing no symptoms, but not even that.

I get the impression that lateral flow tests don't work.

Admittedly this is based on the experience of my sister-in-law who tested negative about four days in succession and then got a PCR which returned positive. I've read similar stories elsewhere.

PCR seems to be the only way to be sure - either that or take off and nuke it from orbit.

I think that a certain percentage of those following the "we'll just check we're OK with a LFT before we go to the party" may fall foul of this.

I’ve got experience the exact opposite. Positive lateral flow, negative PCR. So did more positive lateral flow, then a positive PCR.

LFTs are a lot more accurate than people think.

Many will fall foul.

Tim Spector said yesterday that the symptoms are showing as a cold and people shouldn't wait for the usual symptoms before getting a PCR. To me that sounds like the LFT's may be rendered useless with the new variant

It is very rare I believe but a relative of mine died from rabies in the UK (Scotland specifically) about 20 years ago. He worked with bats and got it from them I believe.
