I'm good with the calling them cunts.

FAR too much political correctness and farting about with "peoples' rights". Just round the twats up, stick needles in them and be done with it. Anyone would think we were talking about mandatory limb amputations or something. It's a fucking injection FFS. People just need to get on with it (unless some valid medical excuse, which probably applies to about 0.01% of the population not 20%).

100% this.

We live in a soft arsed society where peoples wacky opinions and feelings are treated with higher importance to actual facts.

It’s why we’ve ended up in a place where anti vaxxers can cripple a health system to accommodate their “rights” and 6 year olds can identify as trans gender.

The world has gone fucking nuts.

That hospital data looks very reassuring. It matches the South African data in a way we were not sure would translate to the UK. If it holds true and the boosters keep older people out of hospital this may be a happy Christmas and a hopeful New Year.

Someone tell Neil Ferguson and his cronies before they come out with a report that predicts more people are going to die than have ever been born.

Fuck 'em. Refuse to treat them.

Be a great improvement in the gene pool.

Predicted this a few days ago and I’m no Nostradamus. Government has got itself in a terrible fankle now by insisting on such a period of isolation. The same thing is happening in hospitals, and travel will only get worse next week as the Christmas exodus begins. Yet, it can’t start cutting the isolation time or making exceptions for certain sectors as that would be tantamount to telling everyone that the threat is not as serious as we just said.
Don’t think shortening isolating period for pragmatic reasons in NHS and teachers is admitting it’s not as serious as stated. Simply the only way to keep hospitals and schools open maybe?

I think it’ll be too late for people to really enjoy Christmas and New Year as they might have done. That, in turn, might lead many to question why their governments and scientists appeared so deaf to the voices in South Africa.

Talking of which, the Dutch government is expected to announce tonight that it will plunge the country into an immediate four week lockdown, with absolutely everything closed save for essential shops and pharmacies. ‘So, this is Christmas…’

Greater Manchester had a record smashing day today. Every single borough recording a Pop Score of 100 or above. Manchester had the highest daily Pop Score I have ever seen. 217! They had 1204 cases in one day.
Two weeks ago today it was 208. Last week 534.

Over 4000 cases in the ten boroughs. Another unwanted first.

I think you will start to hear about Greater Manchester in the same way as you have about London now in the media sadly.

Stay safe out there. This is all over the region by the looks of it.

I thought the 10 day period was an own goal as soon as I heard it because Omicron is much more rapid than Delta. The South African figures show people recover more quickly, even those in hospital. Shortage of staff is a bigger threat to the NHS than the virus. The Government will have to do another U-turn.

It won’t just be the NHS, though, it will be the transport sector as well and then others. And it will have to happen quickly, too, all while the messages about boosters/tidal waves/NHS collapsing are still ringing in ears. Once people who have tested positive see other people who have tested positive not having to isolate for the ten days, they will likely follow suit- especially in this fortnight, and it’ll be hard for them to deduce anything other than it was less serious than had been predicted.

I just feel governments have been relying on the same tools and mindset that served them for earlier variants, when Omicron is a different beast altogether, and one that was never likely to be controlled.

same goes for over weight people , smokers , people who drink or people who don’t work who not paying for it
Yes, I think you are correct. These people often refuse preventative treatment and subsequently are often denied curative treatments, in the form of a liver transplant for example for an alcoholic. Seems reasonable.
