Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

I am not buying no players have tested positive in the last week, not buying it at all

If they say after the next round of testing there is only one of two then we are being had,no social distancing going on games as far as I can see

Not sure even your harshest critics could argue against that statement, mate...

You never know pal, haha.

Just always remember this line from Jaws when they are all getting into boats to go try and catch it.

My son's football club has resumed football training next week and asked for a head count within its WhatsApp group.

We are the only parents out of 17 who said no.

If my kids can't attend school and hug both sets of grandparents, I will use a combination of my common sense and 45 years of accumulated cynicism.

You do what’s best for your own family, nothing wrong with that whatsoever.

Ah great more conspiracy bollocks.

All the players have tested negative, so the social distancing is pretty irrelevant between players, more for show than anything. You are incredibly, incredibly unlikely to catch it off someone who passed an antigen test <24 hours ago.

And we already know from WHO, CDC etc. That if you remove and isolate someone as soon as they test negative then you can wipe it out very quickly.

So at this point with the amount of testing and checks it would be bizarre if any more than 1 or 2 tested positive in such a protected small group.

I think the latest estimate is that one in 1700+ is carrying the virus in the community which is why there is speculation that the 2m rule will become 1m to help the economy. You would be unlucky to catch it in a large stadium with about 300 folk inside most of whom cannot get anywhere near the players, pitch or changing areas.
