I hope City are just playing along here with the knowledge that the league wont start up again..

If it's been a majority vote and we were against it fair do's to City. however if we've gone along with this after putting that club statement out about we will not play until 100% safe, this will be one cùnts trick, even more so after Sergio coming out last night with his thoughts.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happened in the meeting.

I thought they said they weren’t going to use it as it was deemed to dangerous to have 3 people in a room like that

But it's ok for a team of around 300 to put the game on , about 40 players plus management, coaching staff, officials etc and they are perfectly safe !

When do people think it’s safe to start again. If it’s unsafe now by extension it won’t be safe until there is a vaccine which isn’t guaranteed that they find one.
So in theory it could be 2 or 3 years before it’s safe to play again or even longer.
Football would be in a complete state if that happened

We have to play it by ear,but it is not safe to play a contact sport now ,if it was we wouldn't be social distancing to keep the R number down,we are only just past the peak and have to stop a second more damaging peak,if it takes till a vaccine then it does,everything stopped for the war and recovered after,football can do the same,every business is in the same boat but they are having their employees doing something nobody else is,finishing this season is ridiculous,they should be voiding it and sorting that out and then playing it by ear,unfortunately boris i s stupid and he will approve it to raise the countries spirits or some other bollocks,nobody cares about the safety of the players

BREAKING: Premier League statement on today's meeting: "At a meeting of Premier League Shareholders today, clubs discussed possible steps towards planning to resume the 2019/20 season, when it is safe and appropriate to do so."

The League and clubs are considering the first tentative moves forward and will only return to training and playing with Government guidance, under expert medical advice and after consultation with players and managers."

The fact that the Etihad is being touted as one of the venues implies to me that we're at the heart of the discussions. Disappointing unless there is a quid pro quo somewhere along the line.

I don't know why some of you are knocking City on this meeting. The proposal was probably something like 'should we restart the league on...if it is possible?' Hard to vote against that even if there is little chance of it going ahead. We don't know what happened at the meeting so don't knock it.

Why is anyone surprised! This is all about greedy people minimising their loss on a gamble they felt could never fail. That gamble was the theft of our national game and local club from its very lifeblood, its fans.

This idea of playing behind closed doors on neutral venues, to see out some skewed finish is about nothing more than money and is not to the benefit fans. I have huge sympathy for Liverpool fans because, irrespective of what many may think, the vast majority are hardcore football supporters who under this nonsense idea are now faced with being unable to witness in person nor celebrate their 1st Premier League properly. Imagine if that was us? We too would be in a ridiculous situation where, despite police or medical advice to the contrary, thousands would travel to celebrate, ultimately risking innocent lives, and all because the money men want their cash without giving a 2nd thought for the supporters.

Let this be a lesson to you all, in short you are nothing more than a convenient, colourful and noisy backdrop to assist the sale of their 'Premier League Production', and if needs be you can be dropped like a stone.

The season could be completed with skeleton squads due to players refusing to fly back to the UK , home advantage will be totally ignored and this is supposed to keep the integrity of the Premier league , what a load of bollocks its so the Premier league can keep the £750m and get the Dippers over the line and the additional money this will bring.
The Premier league is a self serving orgainisation with not a care in the world apart from £££££££ , a Dipper title win will be an insignificance and mocked all over the world , a football club handed a title because they were very, very good for a few months , comedy gold.

Call me old fashioned but liverpool winning the title and breaking 100 points isn’t quite as impressive when they’ve had a 2 month break and get to play the rest of their games against teams playing for nothing in front of no-one.
