Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

All this talk of finishing the remaining games is now just a trivial/worthless distraction, ffs if they want the dippers to get it then fcking give it to em, I could not give a toss at all,( but good luck with explaining to the other leagues though). If there is no clear rule to refer to for when a season is only part completed, and god only knows why there isnt(incompetence maybe?). Then the season should just be abandoned, sure, its tougher on some clubs than others in regard to promotion/relegation etc, but lets face it, what is happening worldwide right now is way bigger/more important than titles/cups/promotion or relegation.The football associations worldwide should just get together and agree to tell all clubs to do whatever they can to survive financially and literally,maybe with some help/relaxing of rules etc. Then, if/when football can resume, it will be on the basis of a new season. My apologies if any of this has been said already as I have not visited this thread till i saw the isolated camp discussion heading.

MartianMoleintheHole at Twitter says he has received emails that the Premier League will declare this season “void”. Possibly an April’s Fool joke a day early as one person quipped or may be there’s some truth in it:

I have a suggestion how the season could finish. Top 2 teams in each division become joint winners for 6 months each ie: Liverpool get trophy for six months then pass it on to City for remaining 6 months. Bottom 2 in the Premier League go down(as the table stands) to be replaced by Leeds&West Brom who also share the trophy as joint winners. Bottom 2 go down and so on to the other divisions ect. That's the fairest way and best possible outcome with an * after the winners for 2019-20 season in the records.
