Coronavirus: Football Discussion Thread

The German FA announced now that the season is on hold until end of April. In May they want to play again in empty stadiums. They also said if they cancel the season they are afraid of being liable/sued. If however the season must be cancelled because it is forbidden to play games they are not liable anymore (major force). Looks like it is just pretending to make sure they are not sued. Wonder if it is the same in England.

We could cash in here with clubs struggling for money, They might be prepared to let their star players go to get some money in
You could be right there lots of players are on big contracts however we look at it there will be TV revenue missing, no gate receipts and sponsors wanting refunds if this carries on for long could well see big changes.

I made a last comment here almost 10 days ago the same night I fell properly ill with Covid-19,I know this because two of my work-colleagues tested positive and ended up in hospital seriously ill, one with a collapsed lung- the geezer is in his mid thirties - the other one in his 50s is still on the ventilator. I was lucky never to reach that stage, but was feeling shit for the whole week with high temperature that was escalating into full blown fever from time to time, pain all over my body, in my eye-balls particularly. Lost perspective on football and other sports completely and don't give a shit if doesn't restart in another 5 years, as long as it takes to put this pandemic under control.

Yes, but unfortunately it could work the other way round if Sane leaves. I can't see parasites like Bayern not taking advantage.

I really hope our club would never stoop to such disgusting measures to gain a financial advantage over our opponents in our chosen sport. But then, I too can see, perhaps some of the less noble owners of several PL clubs acting in this manner.
After all, some have proved beyond any doubt, they will do anything to gain an extra 'buck' $. No wonder they display Satan on their emblem. A pox and a plague on them all. FFP...bah

Why doesn't Boris tell them that any plan to resume matches will not be acceptable to the government. Threaten to sue the b@***ds big time (at least one billion) if any person contracts and spreads the virus during the games.
Largely because he a fat bumbling arsehole.

force majeure is an established legal precedent.
