The referee angle is so interesting. What was so interesting about Clatrenbergs comments was the words he used. I always got that refs might get influenced by fear. A public bollocking by a knight of the realm reverted by the press, etc. But look at the words he used about influence. They are about inducement...positive stuff. Maybe he did get an 8k watch after all. Who knows. But I can’t prove it and have no means to. He said what he said in public and yet no investigation. Why?It just wouldn’t be financially sustainable if it was corrupt to the core but there must be elements of corruption between groups and individuals with mutual beneficial motives. Every now and again a story gets out (Brian Clough and his bungs, Grobbelaar and his match fixings), even then the full story never emerges and connected person slip into the shadows.
The influence on the officials is an interesting one because it can range from clever psychological moves to outright bribes but the results can be massive when they relate to key decisions. A ref knows straight away when he is about to make a decision that will determine a match, a trophy, the course of history.
Matt Le Tissier admitting in his autobiography to spot fixing by deliberately kicking the ball out of play from the kick off in order to win ‘first throw in’ betsSo why no response to the evidence of factual cases that have already been posted?
You keep on asking for evidence, which I’ve provided plenty of, so you’ve already seen it, yet ignore any posts with factual evidence.
To reiterate for the final time as you clearly won’t respond to any facts presented hence me calling you out for trolling in this thread
1 - Big Sam - proven
2 - Mark Halsey told to lie, refuted surprisingly by Pgmol, but why would he lie?
3 - Greg Dyke & the watch....even FIFA’s ethics committee said he had to give it back.....yes FIFA’s ethics committee & we all know about FIFA’s ethics
4 - Tommy Weight, Giuseppe "Pino" Pagliara & Dax Wright all convicted of bribery 12 months ago
5 - Floodlight scandal where someone was convicted of a betting scam as lights failed in 3 games in 1997
6 - Sheff Wednesday players 1964 convicted
7 - Early 1900’s Liverpool vs United match fixing. Investigate by someone who worked at United I believe, so no charges brought lol
8 - Early 1900’s Arsenal promotion/relegation scandal
9 - Early 1900’s City overpaying players scandal
10 - Venables bungs
11 - Clough bungs
12 - Harry Redknapp’s dog
13 - Platini - convicted
14 - Blatter - convicted
15 - The other FIFA officials - convicted
16 - Juventus, Milan et al in Italy
17 - Marseille - convicted bribery
18 - G14 & FFP which included English clubs
19 - UEFA leaks
20 - Liverpool hacking - no responsibility accepted, but proof seen by all & damages paid
21 - Hateful 8 letter
22 - Real Madrid trading ground sale then lease back (state funding)
23 - Bruce Grobbelaar on tape admitting to match fixing
24 - Claus Lundekvam from Soton who said in 2012 that he, his teammates and opposing captains had constantly manipulated certain aspects of matches - why would he lie?
25 - 4 year investigation where police have found evidence suggesting that various criminal offences have been committed, including conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, perjury and breaches of data protection laws - not proven but evidence found
I’d suggest 15 of the above points are 109% proven, all been posted before, so what parts of this evidence don’t you believe? It’s all there In Black & white for you pal.
I get you don’t want to believe the game you love is corrupt, but it is, as proven over the past 100+ years, unless you have a different definition of corruption than the rest of the English speaking world?
Yup. Exactly! So why do people cling to the idea that football (now english football given the admissions in the last few pages) isn’t?!?!Maybe, but in that case pretty much every industry in the world is corrupt.
Corruption in 1900!!! I won’t be using you as my defence counsel if it’s all the same ta. The hateful 8 letter is the best you can come up with for the last 5 years. A letter. That went nowhere. Put your shovel down and stop digging. Or, and here’s an offer , show me who has been convicted, in court, within the last 50 years of football based corruption in England. The list must be endless...So why no response to the evidence of factual cases that have already been posted?

I’m not sure they do. I think they just rail against the extent of the problem that is being suggested by some.Yup. Exactly! So why do people cling to the idea that football (now english football given the admissions in the last few pages) isn’t?!?!
