I know for me theres less likely to be a rash decision from Pantilimon and his distribution seems to be less erratic. Love Joe but we cant afford any calamities at the back. Not sure what the long term answer is and its something Pellers will have to think long and hard about.
Yet again this absolute tripe regarding distribution.
The FACTS are that CP's distribution is absolutely abysmal and for some unholy reason a loud minority have decided to perpetuate this MYTH that somehow his kicking/throwing etc is 'superior' to Hart's. IT ISN'T. In fact it is vastly inferior in every possible way. It is one of the worst and most uncomfortable aspects of Pantilimon's game.
Joe Hart deserved to be dropped a few weeks ago. His mistakes this season have cost us points. His game can be dissected and his strengths / weaknesses debated. This particular stick that his detractors have decided to use though is so laughably false, so unbelievably untrue, that it is quite incredible how many people have been taken in.
So which facts are you talking about that prove Hart's distribution is better?Whitefield Blue said:FromPollockToSilva said:Whitefield Blue said:Yet again this absolute tripe regarding distribution.

Hart's pass completion in the league this season is 49.7%. Pantilimon's is 61.9%. Pantilimon makes more passes per game than Hart (18.8 to 16.3) and plays more accurate long passes per game than Hart (4.5 to 3.8).
And Tottenham had more possession than City a few weeks ago.
The moral of the story...stats are by and large a nonsense. Especially the ones that you've so lovingly quoted.

I am finding difficulty in reconciling your comments about Costels distribution with what I've witnessed on the field of play.
That said accepting that his distribution is erratic surely you are not suggesting Hart's is superior? Hart is a good goal keeper of that there is no doubt, but I do question (not withstanding his performances in our Premiership winning side) whether he is world class which is what he needs to be to play for City. Costel has not proven himself at this level yet either but he does seem to be more reliable.
I think the back four seem a lot more at ease with Costel behind them and have no issues playing the ball back to him.
Anyway for me it's Costel until he fouls up, would be unfair to have it any other way.

Is true but may fancy long term regular games in a weaker league/team
