Ha! Where did that random thread come from?! Some Coventry filly break your heart in years gone by? ;-)

Ha ha something like that! Spent a few years living in the concrete jungle. Dreadful place and accent.
It is a horrible accent. I don't think it's possible to sound clever with an accent like that.

I said earlier in the thread they don't have an accent, think you are thinking Birmingham or at least Walsall or Wolverhampton.

I know a guy from Coventry and it's horrendous. Wolverhampton is worse though I will give you that.

Used to be a great away trip to Highfield Rd. There was a big boozer that would put on free food about a mile away from the ground.

As for the missing 16k....probably rags anyway.

The 'Away' pub was a big boozer called the Mercers Arms which was right next to the ground. Used to be rocking in there

One of my first away games was the 1-0 win 1991-92 season when Quiny scored and made his debut, also went the year we were 2-0 down (Mick Quinn) and won 3-2 down and got drenched.

No issue with the club or its fans.

Quinny meaning Niall? if so he made his debut in 1990 in a one all draw v chelsea at maine road Quinn equalised after durie opened the scoring

Weird bunch us city fans. All the riches and talent we have and we can still find time to knock a third levels teams fans, who have spent a year traveling 30 odd miles to watch home games.
But they didn't travel 30 odd miles to watch them did they? The fans boycotted and attendances at Sixfields were tiny.

The 27,000 turned up to welcome them back but the gate dropped because many still boycott as a protest against the twatty-bollocked hedge fund that owns them. This is a set of clowns that make Peter Risdale or the Venkys (or even Peter Swales) look capable of running a club.

I had the misfortune of growing up in that shit hole. My parents still live on the outskirts and most of my mates are still there.

City full of rags and bindipper 'fans'. Out of all my mates, only 1 was a Coventry fan.

I wouldn't say the accent was particularly bad, nothing like a brummie or black country accent. I'd say people from Coventry sound more like they are Leicester's stupid and confused cousin.

Of course no club deserves what's happened to Coventry (apart from maybe the rags, dippers and Arsenal), but it did give me some satisfaction to see them struggle, mainly due to the all the gloating and piss taking I endured through the 90's when we were shit.

And their fans disgraceful behaviour at Maine Road in that FA Cup game. That was odd as I'd never seen any trouble between the sets of fans before.
