Why is the infection rate seemingly dropping off quite drastically in China?

Because official data coming out of China is tightly controlled and manipulated by the government?

I will trust nobody on this. If it's bad, it's worse.

I couldn't believe the amount of people at the gym this morning not even bothering to wipe down after they had used the equipment or weights.

Spent half my session cleaning down before and after myself with the sanitiser wipes available.

Do whatever your gut tells you. I went to BM stores last week (fuck that place is cheap)

Made sure all the foodstuffs could last until end of the year, pasta, rice, energy bars, water, tinned tuna, tomato soup, baked beans, powdered milk.

Getting it all in the loft though?

That almost killed me before any virus!!

Sadly I think you did misinterpret their numbers. They talked about 13m cases being averted and a result, "hundreds of thousands of lives saved", by which they meant 2% of 13m = 260,000. So broad terms, only 600,000 dead instead of 860,000.

However, handwashing and self-isolation is all about slowing it down and buying us time, so that yes our NHS can cope - not having to deal with everyone at once - and also, (a) to the summer months when these things *tend* to die down (although who knows in this case) and (b) to buy time to get a vaccine out.

Ah, I thought it was low, hence my caveat.

Not brilliant but could be all the difference in coping with it.

It does make you think. I went to Malaga for a couple of days end of January. In the airport coming back I ended up sat right in the middle of a couple of hundred Italians about to board a flight. Anyway when I got back my eldest had a bit of a cold and I was driving him round.

Last week I start with a few sneezes, felt fucked, sore throat, tight chest, rough as a bears arse. When I remembered all the Italians at Malaga airport I shit myself and did the NHS 111 online which concluded that I would indeed not be currently suffering from Coronavirus. I am actually feeling a lot better today.

Am I 100% sure it wasnt the Coronavirus, no. It probably was a cold from my youngest. That said there are those who reckon there is more of it about than we know probably because of the mild symptoms that it seems many have, hence even now many will probably brush it off as a cold and carry on as normal despite the coverage and advice being given.
