Does anyone else have a little wobble when these numbers come out? I've generally adapted to this life indoors thing and largely started to get used to this grim normality, but then 2pm comes and the numbers appear online and my head goes woozy for a good ten mins. It's fucking bleak isn't it?

Please don't reply saying 'stay offline', as we all know that's totally unreasonable and not even possible really at the moment.

I had this a couple weeks ago for sure, felt sick every time the numbers were released.

However, even though the numbers are rising are tragic, i feel comforted that the vast majority are following governments guidelines and have accepted the numbers are gonna be bad for a few weeks or longer but there really is nothing more you or i can do about it .

Totally agree. However if we hadn't locked down the rise in figures would be stratospheric.
Oh, I agree! It’s just that the number of deaths aren’t really shocking me.

Especially since experts were saying in early January that 1% of 60% of the population could die. That’s 406,809 people; or 1,115 a day, every day, for one full year.

I've had flu twice in my life and both times I was bed ridden for over two weeks. The first was in the late 60s when I was 14/15 and then just after I started work when I was 17.

The first time was during the Hong Kong flu epidemic, which was 1968-9. A young bloke near where I lived died from it even though he was a healthy 20 something labourer and there were tens of thousands of UK deaths. Is Covid-19 actually any worse than this type of flu epidemic?

I had a look at Madrid and Venice. One road in my small town has more people and vehicles than all of the webcams I looked at together.

This just reaffirms what the google GPS tracker data suggested; we are much more likely to be out and about in public places, than France, Spain, Italy or Germany - but much less so than the US.
Yeah it's quiet around most of the world....just us little englanders who know (fuck all) best.

Surely even amoeba must now realise the seriousness of all this.

Can anyone give me a valid reason why Britian is not on full lockdown because this death toll is rising rabidly but no one seems to give a shit in the government .

Hong Kong flu killed 1million. It had a low mortality rate but was highly contagious.
