80 more deaths in hospitals in Scotland, total now 779 - Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Says lockdown must be in place for "at least another three weeks

The death rate for men with coronavirus was twice as high as that of women in England and Wales in March, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

The mortality rate for men was 97.5 deaths per 100,000 population, while for women it was 46.6 deaths.

So men and black or ethnic minority are two things we are learning about this virus
For some reason, men have a much higher rate of lung and heart diseases than women. Also the darker your skin at the higher the latitude you live, the greater the Vitamin D deficiency.

Something we should take from this is that more men in this country need to stop smoking and eating so many dead carbohydrates, and the darker your skin you need to eat more foods with VitD in or supplement.

That mortality rate is high isn't it? That figure would be even higher if the mortality rate was calculated using people that were infected, the herd immunity would be a bloodbath on the face of it.

The figure for men dying is 71% in Italy for example.

The move follows calls for the government to investigate the number of deaths of people from the BAME community and those working for the NHS, during the coronavirus pandemic

Sky News analysis found that out of the 54 frontline health and social care workers in England and Wales that have died because of COVID-19, 70% of them were black or from an ethnic minority

The americans are finding the same
Easy...
High population density - spreads the virus easily.
Public transport - spreads the virus easily.
The densley populated UK cities have a higher proportion of BAME people (30% to 40%) than in less densely populated areas.
Men are more overweight than women.
More men have high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes than women.
The Asian community has twice the number of diabetics than other communities due to genetic reasons.

More than nine in 10 people dying with coronavirus have an underlying health condition, figures from the Office for National Statistics show.

The ONS looked at nearly 4,000 deaths during March in England and Wales where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate.

In 91% of cases the individuals had other health problems.

The most common was heart disease, followed by dementia and respiratory illness.

On average, people dying also had roughly three other health conditions.

Not sure why dementia should be the second most contributing factor. On the other hand heart disease being the main factor does seem to tally with this report

Well...diet not matching their genetics.
