The news came from a Professor of medicine at Chicago University who involved in administering the trial not the pharmaceutical company.

The info was leaked from a video presentation of one of the University researchers so possibly not by Gilead although that can't be ruled out. There was no control phase in those trials so there was no guidance as to how many patients may have recovered by receiving standard ICU treatment.

It's a promising development but still a bit to go yet.
