Could the virus not have been around in Jan with people getting minimal virus loads? minimal virus load 0.1% death rate

Come March u are now getting a higher virus load not just off the Missus but the Butcher the Supermarket worker the Pub landlord etc now the death rate has jumped to 1%

Or am I just barking up the wrong tree?

I understand from previous posts that a few on here, Karen7 being one I have seen that some believe they could have caught it from the trip to Wembley and that was the 1st March

I came back from the Madrid game on the 28th Feb, the game was the 26th Feb and from then I had a cough like I have never had before for a good three weeks. I also had a few night sweats where I was drenched and had to get up and have a shower. A few loose shits but no other symptoms.

At the time I put this down to excess of Madrid and the games afterwards as I went to Wembley and i also went to the Derby game and we make occasions of them. The virus was then starting to et headlines but we will never know

Maybe I am clinging

I read yesterday that they believe a man in France had the virus in December. People scoff at anyone who says they think they had it earlier than it was supposed to have been possible but I'm not so sure. For some it may have been a bad dose of flu, for others it could have been the virus.

I flew back on January 11th after 31 nights in Tenerife. Just prior to leaving I started with what I thought was a cold. Within a couple of days I was floored with a raging temperature and a continual hacking cough that was horrendous and made sleep almost impossible. I was often so exhausted I fell asleep without noticing, as in I was awake one second then waking up coughing. Towards the end of the worst i was getting the metallic taste in my mouth. Four months later I still feel tired a lot and get occasional bouts of coughing but not continual as it was. The apartment I was staying in had a decent Chinese next to it and when I couldn't be bothered cooking I'd get the odd takeaway. Just before I came home it was closed as it was a Chinese holiday and the woman told me she had relatives coming from China to celebrate. On my last night there I got a takeaway as I'd cleaned and packed all the cooking utensils away. Coincidence, a bad dose of flu or the virus? Who knows. An added footnote is the apartment was owned by an Italian who's family used it too. As soon as I can I will get the test as I'm sure many here will.

Almost certainly barking up the wrong tree most people get it from people they live with and that would be the same in Jan March or April, it may well have been more in Jan as people then would not have avoided other members of their family with symptoms.

I have not asked the chances of you coming into contact with an infected person

I asked if you come into contact with 10 infected people is the viral load the same as coming into contact with 1​

The answer is a resounding no.

I'm the same as you with the maybe had, maybe haven't category. I went Madrid and Wembley like yourself but the night of the Sheff Weds cup game, started to feel a bit of a cold coming on. Woke up the next day whole body was aching with a bit of a dodgy throat which got worse throughout the day till I got sent home from work, with a very very high temperature yet shivering. The thing I don't get is the bad symptoms only lasted maybe a day or so but I had a really chesty cough for a week and I couldn't run with it at all and no one in my house ended up with anything either.

I tested positive last week and only had two nights of temperature fluctuations, the shivers were really bad. I started feeling better probably 3 days after testing positive. Still get tired now, I am definitely no expert but it sounds to me that your symptoms were similar to mine.

TBF - I was making reference to the purpose of the COBRA facility and processes for its use - which I am very familiar with - not this specific use.

The vast majority of COBRA meetings - the facility is in use every day - do not include SoSs or PMs - they get involved as and when sevetity/escalation requires/demands.

I am not saying that he should not have been at earlier meetings - but almost certainly not the first

I am not apologising or making excuses for him or anyone else - just informing with facts.

That is simply the reality of how these things work/operate
