COVID-19 — Coronavirus

I dint see Ian’s tweet that has offended some but I’ve posted in support of Cheesey because I known he is a good, well meaning guy.

I don’t agree with everything Ian has said in recent times including trying to put City in the frame as a driving force behind football restarting behind closed doors, when we have sweet FA influence over the Prem. However, I can’t believe his comments about the protests are anything other than reasonable.

His tweet was childish nonsense.

London had an R average of 0.6 three weeks ago, 0.7 two weeks ago 0.8 last week and as of yesterday it was 0.95. With the Covidiots on parade today it will be above 1 next week.
You will find out the damage was done when all of the idiots went to zthe beaches for abit of sun . The people that demonstrated yesterday will have caused it to go up but at least they broke it for something that they believed in instead of a hot dog and Ice cream

I’ve not seen the tweet so it’s not something I am going to die in a ditch about. Based on what has been said by most other Blues I reckon Ian’s tweet will have been well meaning.

If Ian hasn’t expressed his view clearly enough then that’s another matter. I see a number of people on Twitter think that’s the case.

They were Covidiots too.
But to be fair, at least they weren't walking though the vapour trail of Covidots in front of them for an hour.

Doubt it really, beaches look crowded but even in normal tomes when you sit on a beach I doubt people leave much less than 2 metres to the next family / group. More likely there will be more transmission this weekend with colder weather and people meeting indoors. The protests yesterday saw thousand in actual contact with each other, as well as shouting in each others faces.

Also a large amount of them are young and couldn’t give a fuck about the virus - probably believe it’s all a hoax

Professor Edmund (?) on Marr this morning seemed insistent on this not going away anytime soon (in contrast to this fizzling away). Emphasised the need for vaccines and ultimate herd immunity.

Fucking hell, are we now into publishing league tables as to what’s the most acceptable reason for breaching social distancing rules?

Look, it’s all wrong. That wanker Cummings thinking he can do what the fuck he wants, the wankers on the beaches last week, and these wankers yesterday.

You’ll find very few people who aren’t disgusted with what happened to George Floyd and aren’t supportive of the reasoning behind the protests, but that doesn’t mean we have to be supportive of these protestors doing things that clearly break social distancing guidelines. I said the other day that with all the technology we now have, they could’ve easily come up with an idea for a simultaneous global protest from their own doorsteps along the lines of the clapping for the NHS which wouldn’t have risked another spike. With that idea in mind, I find myself asking what Anthony Joshua was doing out there yesterday. I’m not even going to get into his car crash of a speech, but he’s someone who has millions of followers on Twitter and he could’ve used that reach to get a message out there without even setting foot outside his own home. Many of those followers would’ve then re-tweeted it and all of a sudden it’s gone viral with tens of millions of views.
