On the other hand there is more evidence today supporting the North West as a hot spot. More of the new cases were from here in todays figures than yesterdays.
London overall added just 25, the North East (another worst impacted area) added 17 -though the North West is overall more than twice its size in population. North West added 79 new cases.
Of these 5 were in Blackpool - one of the worst impacted locations in the UK if anyone is planning a day trip. Eight were added in Manchester. 2 in Bolton. 4 in Bury (the second worst impacted area in Greater Manchester) 2 in Oldham (the worst impacted in Greater Manchester and just below Blackpool in rankings) 3 in Rochdale, 5 in Salford and 2 in Stockport.
The Wirral, btw, has the very same rating as Bury - so one of the worst in the North West. Where they took the cruise ship passengers in the early days of the pandemic, by coincidence or not. And where some Madrid fans may have visited when they played Liverpool whilst their home city was in chaos.
