Matt Hancock has ordered an urgent review into PHE statistics on Covid deaths as it appears they include anyone who ever tested positive even if they died months later from an unrelated condition.

Fucking beyond belief if true.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is a Cummings scheme, feed people the bad news at the start then magically turn round at the end and go "see, we did a great job, it's just an incompetent body who cocked up the figures but we did great".

Yep, it is a decent debate point. you could add discoveries vs inventions too and then Flemming starts to be raised a lot with the discovery of Penicillin.

Then start to get into more fuzzy ground with Electricity. and telecom's allowing faster assistance if needed etc etc.

I get his point too, Driver vs inventor/discoverer. Its a decent debate :) without someone driving things forward the inventions no matter how great get left behind.

Should the accolades for Penicillin go to Flemming or the medical companies that mass produce it or the doctors who prescribe it? or just treat it as a big team effort.

This could be a big thread derail so maybe one to either move to another thread or stop for now.

I think it is more likely to be part of Project Fear 2.0 as the government has been hugely over hyping the risk for months now in order to enforce the lockdown and pathetically slow down the return to normal.

Seemingly Johnson would prefer to see the economy collapse for a generation rather than take a measured view of the tiny risk that Covid now presents.

Seemingly if you died after being knocked down by a bus months after having Covid you would be included in the stats for Covid deaths.

So this is how PHE collate their figures for Covid deaths. They periodically check the database of all the people who have tested positive and if they have died they add them to the number of Covid deaths.

And that's it....no check to see what they actually died of. On that basis no-one would ever recover from Covid as they would eventually die. It's fucking unbelievable!!!

Excess deaths doesn't back that up at all though. If they were just not reporting covid on deaths but had lots of deaths they would be showing in excess deaths but they are not. Its the big advantage of looking at excess deaths as you cant hide causes elsewhere.

Whitty is already on record saying us failing to follow Germany's test everything and track and trace schemes is the reason.
