She doesn't actually say she "didn't see it coming", if there aren't enough people in the system to do the lab work what can she do ? You keep telling us you've worked in the system, how long does recruitment and training take, I've no idea but it's not a few weeks I'd guess, are the people actually available to recruit ? I assume they need degree's in something relevant.Come on now, getting everywhere open and kids going back to school and autumn viruses kicking in, nearly winter and the well paid head of testing can't see a rise in testing needs ?
Not everything is a conspiracy, sometimes shit happens, and in this case demand is outstripping the capacity of the labs.
It's actually because we can do so many tests that we have run out of capacity, we are 5th in the world for number of tests done (ahead of countries with much bigger populations), and 1st in the world of countries with populations >10,000,000 in tests per million population (the only one over 300,000 per million), I'd say that's not a bad job to have overseen.
