Wales data:

0 deaths today (was 0 last week)

286 cases (more than Scotland) (was 234 last week).

At 2.7% of tests (was 2.3%) - so like Scotland up slightly in % week to week but nothing like doubling.

Northern Ireland data:

O deaths (was 0 last week)

220 cases (was 125 last week)

At 2,0% positive (was 1.3% last week).

51 patients (up 5 in day) (was 33 last week)

6 on icu ventilators (up 1 in day) (was 3 last week)

The rolling 7 day case average is a new record of 1513. (It was 1014 last week).

Of these 12% are over 60. This percentage has been stable around here for some weeks.

3% are over 80.

960 of the 1513 cases are under 40

England hospital data is tentatively good news. Though Sunday data caveat needs to be applied.

It is 10 deaths and 3 from the North West. Last week it was exactly the same.

This is the first non rise in over a week but it was as low as 1 given the Sunday lack of death registering just a week or two ago so not wise to be too sure it is a genuine stalling. But it might be.

Still first day in a while it has not been a week to week rise. Even from weekends.

All in all today some cautious grounds for optimism.

Further details of England hospital deaths:

27 Sep adds 1 = 1 after one day,

26 Sep adds 7 = 8 after two days - this is only the second single figure number at two days in the past week and the the first one we have seen since last Wednesday.

25 Sep adds 1 = 13 after three days - lowest three day total in 6 days.

24 Sep adds 1 = 17 after four days .

No other deaths from earlier dates.

So the recent record high total for 23 Sep at 5 days stays at 34. That is the highest five day total since 9 July but it was 28 at just two days and 34 at three days - so in the circumstances that is relatively good news.

Cautious optimism is justified I would say. Though the big test is tomorrow with the weekend catch up that usually occurs on a Tuesday.

Nice to see no deaths from this in 3 two weeks in Scotland, Wales and Ni - dare i admit it made me start to utter the words "solution worse than the issue in my own brain??" - i would be surprised if one person at least had not committed suicide in those countries as a result of the mental impact of all this in the last 2 weeks?

So 10 is the UK hospital deaths. Last week it was 11. This is the first drop in a week or two week to week I think.

11 was the all settings last week too.

Parliament bars:
It appears that they were open because there is an exemption - suggestions are that it's because it can be viewed as a workplace canteen or a Royal Palace exemption.

They will not serve alcohol past ten, and the Commons Speaker decided this last week to abide by the national restrictions.
It's a non-story - they had already restricted their own rules, and no alcohol had been served since the rules came in.

Ignore the cases, the data that is being used there is beyond dreadful. The data to keep an eye on is ICU admissions and to put it bluntly, people dying. There is too much noise in the testing data to be able to draw any conclusions from it. At this moment in time, it's still looking like the slight rise we are seeing is not because of a dreaded second wave but simply a rise in cases due to the time of year and people moving into the at risk category due to other medical issues.
Not so sure about that. I know it's not ICU admissions but there seems to be a clear trend in general hospital admissions for Covid 19.

West didsblue - The England hospital inpatients have been escalating quite rapidly for two or three weeks

I post the numbers in here around 5 or 6 pm every night when available.

The North West is the worst impacted and seen numbers rise by about 8 times in the past 3/4 weeks from what was well under 100 to well over 500.

Same with the Covid ventilator patients. NW has the most of these in the UK and that has been pretty much doubling week to week. Though we had the biggest fall in these yesterday.
