I see Whitty the gloom and doom man is clIming daily infections could be as high as 76k a day.
Yet real world studies (ONS and Zoe to name but two) say its 26k a day.
Time for him to be moved asside I think.

Just seen breaking news that a German court has overturned Berlin's curfew on bars and restaurants. Says the moves were disproportionate. Hopefully we can do the same here, we all know Germany are the ones to follow and have handled this better than anyone else. Somme common sense creeping in at last.

Not sure that the German courts have been the institution that has been driving Germanys success.

Most people recognised we came out on initial lock down too soon,people were,in the main,taking things seriously and we were getting on top of things,then.....all the pubs opened,people were encouraged to go and stuff themselves daft in every restaurant and schools were sent back.Couple that with Govt persons thinking they were/are a law to themselves and providing nob heads with the excuse they sought......and this shit storm was only ever going to return with a vengeance.

Its become a fucking farce now - We need to protect the vulnerable and crack on.

You can only isolate the infected.
Isolating the vulnerable doesn't work as care workers and deliveries let the virus get in.

Thats what I thought, the poster was suggesting there was a problem with it, and using it as a reason not to have a covid vaccine, unless I misunderstood his point. Whereas the problem was , unfounded suggestions, it wasn’t safe causing a low take up and illnesses. The last thing we need are similar unfounded claims about any covid vaccine.

You do wonder what they’re looking at unless there’s a secret data cache that they don’t publish.
As of 11 Oct, ave positive tests in Manchester decreased for 8 days in a row, & 19% lower than on 3rd Oct. In all of GM, new positive tests are flat.

I am 74 years old and have followed all the regulations and guidelines and have stayed well throughout the crisis. However I am getting heartedly sick of how long this is dragging on, what will happen if the Chinese release another one of these viruses every few years?

There's nothing more shit that dying. Losing your job and livelihood is terrible for sure and I don't make light of it, but dying is worse.

I'm rather looking forward to my eventual ascension into God's kingdom myself after being there to help and support my children and grandchildren for maybe 10-25 years.
