Just checking the minutes from the meeting again and it does recommend a circuit breaker but does not say national or local

My browser wont let me read it, can you give me the bit about the circuit breaker please

Valance and whitty have both said the tiers will likely not do anything and it needs to be national , the circuit breaker is different to the tiers idea

Those dates are pretty similar to the ones I post each evening for the North West. We seem to be running at a similar backtracking schedule from July through June into May and edging towards the April peak of the first wave. Which I hope we never get near to catching.

Much of the rest of England is still having dates in June for their comparators.

Deaths though are still in June. But are creeping into May now. Especially for the NW.

This is a very good way to see the scale of the problem we have which is why I use it in the England death repirts each afternoon. We know the first wave fell slowly from its peak around 9 April so the further away we are from that the better and the closer we get to that date the bigger the problem in terms of hospital data.

Yeah, I felt there were similarities to the dates when I began posting them. In a way its possible to group the North West with Scotland as both seem to be a bit ahead of elsewhere.

Where is the unity? No wonder people don't know what to do. Sage should be sending out one message not each member giving his/her tuppence worth. No wonder everyone is fucking confused
They have to toe the line next to boris , they have said what they can without flat out saying boris is wrong , the select commitees are always very interesting , that is where you get their views in full, whitty is especially honest . Boris keeps saying he is following the science ( so blame them if it goes tits up ) the scientist make it clear what they are saying as they dont want the blame for political decisions

They say a circuit breaker was recommended as the tiers wont be enough , i agree , with the naff communication of the rules it makes more sense to have one circuit breaker and so one message
I think it was whitty that said we advise but ministers decide

Yes but Sage should be advising as one, not each individual putting his/her opinions forward otherwise what is the point of itself

Huge rise today to 26, 688 cases. Most ever. (though the caveat of lots more testing now than April etc this is nonetheless a big rise from 19,724 last week).

258, 620 tests pillar 1 & 2 (25 K more than yesterday and 8K more than last week for the 7000 fewer cases).

All settings deaths 191.
