Would it be helpful if the government commissioned a major piece of work from a polling organisation in conjunction with Cheltenham Racecourse and possibly a medical research college? They must have info on people who are attending the festival. So, carry out a major survey (5,000 + people?) who attended the festival, or live in Cheltenham, own pubs or hotels in Cheltenham etc. Monitor them and find out how many become ill. It would surely provide useful information on how the virus spreads in large crowds. It could be too late to impact on this crisis but might provide valuable information for the next one.
