Surely they should make it clear you cannot come in without a mask, at the moment people know nothing will happen.
If they employ security they should be able to do this easy enough
Same as if the police just sent one officer to each supermarket from tomorrow and stopped letting people in and then did spot checks

Supermarket staff get enough grief from the general public, even before Covid. The ones who are front of house, trying to ensure social distancing or show where handgel is to clean hands before entering etc, are your normal employee (the ones I have seen), and don't need Billy big bollocks giving it large because he feels no desire to wear a mask.

Could bouncers be used, who knows how that would work, but for me, the general staff shouldn't be getting shit for trying to help everyone stay safe, including the wankers hell bent on the opposite

Of course there are anomalies, but IMO it is not people like you who are taking all these precautions and are puzzling over anomalies, who are at the root cause of our current crisis.

It's made enormously worse IMO by people who don't give a toss about the rules, anomalies or not.

And BTW, whilst I am here, can I just say that keeping schools and universities open, is absolutely idiotic. 4 weeks of kids missing school and/or having to do homework and classes from home is utterly irrelevant in the great scheme of their overall education, and yet keeping them open drives a coach and horses through effectiveness of the lockdown.

There was some guy on the TV from the teachers' union (I think it was) who was saying that there has been a 50x increase in infections in secondary schools and yet we think it's OK for these people to continue to keep mixing and going home to infect their parents??? Bonkers.

It’s not 4 weeks though is it? Decisions made in secret, no transparency whatsoever, no details around the actual costs of lockdowns v the benefits, no indication what numbers they’re actually looking at, numbers and graphs either made up or from over a week ago, graphs with the words “this is not a prediction but a scenario” printed on the bottom but that’s not actually stated.
Lockdown lifted on December 2nd but everyone then in a tier but we won’t tell you how that works either. Any pubs and hospitality left tipping everyone out at 10, some sort of Christmas and then lockdown 3 on January 2nd, because Terminator like, the virus will be back.

It’s a levelling up of sorts I suppose, plunging the entire middle class into poverty, unemployment and homelessness as well as blighting the young and very poor for decades to come.

All to fight a respiratory virus that generally takes very old people, just like respiratory viruses do every single year. The only difference with this one is, if you’ve died from metastatic cancer, a heart attack, a stroke or some such like in the past, you’ve not had a swab shoved down your throat to see if you might have had a virus sometime in the last 3 or 4 months and, if you have, you’re on the ‘Covid pile’ which doesn’t seem quite right.
The presumption seems to be that everyone who has died with Covid, would all still be alive if this virus hadn't appeared, which is a long way from the truth.

How is a Inside or outside Garden Centre Essential to stay open, but if your Cookers fucked you can't go and have a look at one, unless you buy a BBQ from the Garden Centre was their thought process.

A slight argument in our household last night. My eldest works, wears a mask/gloves all day, his gf also works all day and wears a mask/gloves and more being in the NHS. From Thursdays they cant meet in a house but only outside in the cold. My youngest is in college as is his gf they wear masks/gloves and can see each other all day in a nice warm college. My eldest says he is still going to go and see his gf it's not fair that he cant( his gf shares a house with other nurses). My advice was move into together for the month.
We are happy to have them here but a little bit worried as my missus is diabetic. But we are all out at work and could catch it anywhere.
I feel for young couples ( and elderly) who can see college/school kids carrying on as normal. My workplace over looks a school playground ( it's a mixed grammar) and kids are still hugging and kissing in the playground.
Schools to me are a massive problem as from what I have seen once out of the classroom they carry on as normal. No masks, no social distancing, holding hands, kissing as they walk around town, or from the train station etc. Kids are getting a free pass when we adults are back in lockdown the kids arent ! The kids are going to become the main spreaders

Wifes mum and her fella live in the same village as us. Huge garden, 4m square gazebo, fire pit and no fucking rules will stop us sitting around it once or twice a week for a natter, a brew and a beer. If we can go to work or the supermarket to fight over a bog roll we can do what humans do and that is socialise safely and with some distancing in place.

My family are all in Heywood and not seeing them is fucking hard and i will respect not being able to do so but some of the rules are stupid.

I agree too that the end is in sight, a vaccine even if only administered amongst the vulnerable population will have a significant impact. It will certainly open up new options on policy because we are going into lockdown 2 purely because healthcare capacity needs to be preserved.

If the vulnerable are protected then there is a much stronger argument to let young people loose and to have relative normality as the whole population are slowly vaccinated. There is then just a need for top ups to maintain immunity until eventually the virus is extinguished.

The worry I have isn't with the UK, it's with the rest of the world because it's fine removing the virus from here but open the borders and it will start all over again which is why an international vaccine from the WHO is needed. That stupid tit president removing funding from the WHO has to be amongst the most idiotic decisions of his presidency.

I think there's one major wave left. The virus will have a hard job regaining a foothold in the Spring and Summer and by next Autumn we really should be in a completely different place but we have to dislodge it first. Trump is America first. That's really all he stands for. Under his charge the US has withdrawn from every world stage. There's lots of nationalist talk but its confined within their borders.

Its exactly contrasting scenarios like the above that are driving people fucking nuts with frustration,anger,and bewilderment.

Ive just been to a supermarket this morning and any form of social distancing was none existent,it was just full of selfish,arrogant and thick fuckers hell bent on sorting themselves out......yet,woe betide anyone who goes round their neighbours to interact sensibly and bring a little bit of sanity back into their life.
