It’s harrowing how many people want mass extended lockdowns, destroying people’s livelihoods, causing deaths through life threatening illness’s which are no longer considered a priority, altering the landscape of our social existence, and then want a vaccination forced upon them all to save the nhs! It’s like something out of a horror movie!
I think your choice of words is deliberately being provocative. I have read practically all of this thread and have I read people saying we need to lockdown, not want or extended lockdowns. Huge difference imo

497 deaths, Fuck me this is getting out of control again, as much as i hate the idea of a lockdown we have to do something.

what a ridiculous statement to make. If anything we are in this position because of two things, a shifting in the goal posts from mortality and captaincy to infection and predicted capacity in hospitals, frankly they’ve shelved most medical treatment and got the public so scared they won’t even go to a hospital so I don’t know how this is the case and.....

the government actively encouraged the country to go out and get social with their eat out to help out, no flight restrictions and lax approach. You are welcome to blame people if you want but this mess lies at the doors of incompetent government.
You are correct when you say 'the government actively encouraged the country to go out and get social with their eat out to help out'. Did the government also actively encourage people to ignore social distancing or not wear masks or maybe go to raves attended by thousands or go to the pub with all your mates? As for flight restrictions, as soon as they were put in place everyone moaned about them. People are not isolating when told to do so, so whilst you want to point the blame at the government you really need to accept that the people of the UK have to share the blame and a large part of it.

Totally agree, too many morons willingly playing roulette with other people's health

Interesting that you should say that.
I check the figures for our ward every night and they have been coming down steadily for the last five days. Another drop today of seven cases over the week.

Will they be the figures that are dated up to 4 or 5 days ago though? Because it probably was falling then if you follow the data on here nightly. Up to the last 48 hours GM WAS heading down.

The GM totals for the past week are:

2632, 2386, 2474, 2205, 1562, 2144, 2599.

The ward data on the postcode map comes from the mid point of that data if you look at the small print where it tells you the date it goes up to.

Indeed, it always has been.

Far from it.
it was quite accurate for the time frame we were discussing.

Arguably your assumptions are inaccurate
OK let me be more precise your assertion seems unfounded in the light of the overall statistics and the figures for the seven days up to yesterday.

I don’t believe the death numbers are any way stacking up with your figures.

Are you saying that the First Minister has done a superior job to the Prime Minister in dealing with the coronavirus?
