N Ireland 3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today:

Deaths 8 v 10 v 14 v 3 today - encouraging drop

Cases 493 v 471 v 331 v 280 today - speaks for itself and the success of their circuit breaker in suppressing early and hard.

7 day rolling case total 4919 v 3921 v 3831 v 2955 today - again clear evidence of the above

Patients 371 v 426 v 427 v 438 today.

Ventilators 42 v 43 v 37 v 30 today - Hospital data stabilising and even falling is also good news.

Northern Ireland have had a tough second wave but hit it hard and early and it worked.

So the total deaths today without the out of hospital for England (usually low as Sunday data) is 190.

Last Monday it was 212 - so an encouraging fall week to week.

3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today is: 129 v 186 v 212 v 190 today.

Like all on here, delighted with more great news on the vaccine front from Oxford further to the results on the mRNA vaccines from the states.let’s keep them coming the more the better.

I do really hope that the scientists, lab technicians, data analysts and those involved in the logistics of all these global trials who have given so much of their lives in this last six months get the applauds from all around the world as the frontline careers rightly received Earlier this year.

Also a big shout out to everyone who has volunteered for all these global vaccine trials and still continue to volunteer to new ones being rolled out - hopefully those on the placebos can also be at the front of the queue for the real deal.

Total cases for the three nations without England is 2121.

3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today: 2206 v 2314 v 1940 v 2121 today - so stable around 2000 but not falling.

Absolutely nuts IMO, that. What do they think 4,000 people will do before, during and after sports event - file in carefully 2M apart, sit down with a mask on then file out carefully afterwards?

Interested to see what the rationale behind it is, and impossible to justify whilst no more than six people can meet together indoors, which IIRC was the old tier one, and presumably still the new tier one (said to be more, not less stringent).
