If course its a political decision, made from scientific data.So is this a political decision, not a scientific one? If so, I kinda got told I was being a conspiracy theory nut last night for suggesting it...
Edit - Would be genuinely interested in your thoughts on this @Uncle Wally One Ball & @Eds?

I Couldn't comment on that I don't have access to the latest data. Nor am I qualified to interpret it.The scientific data suggests we shouldn't be easing lockdown. But we're doing it anyway. That's ignoring scientific data.
And when it goes tits up they will lie as usual and say they followed the science. The scientific data suggests we shouldn't be easing lockdown. But we're doing it anyway. That's ignoring scientific data.

It's right here. By Downing Street's own admission we haven't reached stage 3 of their own covid alert level, which would be the next stage of easing down. We're at four still, but we're doing it anyway.
A working app may help but it is not necessarily crucial to the success of contact tracing, adequate numbers of decent tracers and a quick and reliable testing regime probably are.Our current new case levels are 3 times the level of peak South Korea but wer'e deploying a lot of technology including the app (soon) and a lot of people at it. Here are two articles on how it works:

I can't see people will accept this who think other civil liberties are not trumped by the right NOT to get I'll and die. But that discussion is for the political thread.
