when I had my 'flu vaccine I was told to wait on a chair in Boots for 15 mins post vaccine just in case I had an allergic reaction. The appointments were based 15 mins apart to allow for this.

Supply might be an issue. They did noticeably say in the Downing St briefing that they'd be vaccinating on the basis of keeping up with supply.

I had the flu jab at my GPs surgery a couple of months ago (well a tent in the car park). I was in and out in around a minute.

Right now there are only 7 of the 315 boroughs in England with a weekly Pop score under 100. And five of those are going upward. GM had two a fortnight ago but none now.

The lowest in GM in this list based on pre Christmas data is Bolton at 155. Though even here - best in GM right now - has since gone up to 171 last night.

High Peak in Derbyshire is the lowest in the region at 298 with a Pop Score of 135 but it is going up too.

Burnley at 85th on a Pop of 469 is highest from the NW in a top 100 almost all down south.

Liverpool is higher on the list than most of Greater Manchester, including Manchester.

I'm just tired of it all now.
My mental health has been shot for months.

You can see your support bubble. I live alone and have been going round to my parents.

Just had a txt msg telling me to shield at home as I am on the vulnerable list. I can't see anyone at all now and will be locked away at home. If you are not clinically vulnerable, you can still go to your support bubble.

They were saying there was millions of this ready to go, now it’s 530,000. That’s probably about 2 weeks worth of vaccinations with the pace they are at now. Slightly concerning considering it’s the vaccine the majority of the U.K. population will probably end up getting.
I think there are and its the little containers that are in short supply

These ex phials are a bit of a mystery though so probably to be expected,

Of todays 981 deaths 919 of them were from England. As there were 494 in England hospitals reported today that is a rather whopping 425 out of hospital Covid deaths in England added. That will be where a lot of the excess numbers here came from - many in care homes or at home that were not able to be registered over the long weekend.

Still a shocking number but it will almost certainly be for now a high point. Hopefully the highest we get in this third wave.

Apparently they have made the vaccine but forgot that there might be a large demand for little plasticky bottles to put the vaccine into. This is slowing production.

Boris is doubtless onto it and mobilising a Womble Army with himself being a dead ringer for Uncle Bulgaria.

Collect all the old bottley things you can find out there and we will have the vaccine to you in a jiffy....

Or a jiffy bag at least.

PS not all of the above is a joke. Bet you cannot work out which bit isn't.

I thought that it had been declared that mass vial creation had been ongoing for months?

Thanks mate
I'm just so angry at those fuck wits who went to the Trafford centre past few days.
Selfish twats. They will no doubt be moaning now.

It has , it takes time to fill them and get it distributed, peoples expectations are too high

The govt put on their website a month ago that they expect to have 4 million doses.
This is the first I've heard of any delay to distribution due to bottling - that's not something that got mentioned today even (from what I heard of the press conference).

Tier 4 restrictions I can accept but being asked to teach whilst my London colleagues get additional time to have the numbers driven down through extra school closure I find hard to take.

Can this Oxford vaccine be self administered?

After my op in Feb, I had to self inject Heparin once a day for about a month.

In which case, they could post them out like a tax bill.

We'd get them next day.
Made the same point earlier, I was on a medical trial eight years ago at Synexus on the Science Park near the Royal in Manchester. Had to inject myself in the stomach, not pleasant but soon get used to it, I'd definitely do this not only for me but my family as well.

You don't get a vaccine approved during a pandemic and then start putting it in vials only when approved, the vials will be all packaged ready to go. They may not have 100m but they will still have millions ready to go
