I’m sure that these anti-holiday people are just saying these things to be working their mouth, with no thought on what’s being said.

As you lay out above, you’d be pretty daft to claim that the pub environment is safer at the moment.

I honestly believe the government have made things much worse by opening indoor hospitality too soon, but I can understand the economic pressures. As you’ve said several times, it’s a pity they aren’t more consistent and they should be applying the same economic argument to the travel sector.

Nobody is instructing anyone to do anything , aside from him saying people who go to the pub are killing people and to have a long hard look at themselves

What I actually said was that anybody who comes on here having a go at people who want to go on holiday AND are themselves going to pubs/restaurants need to have a long, hard look at themselves.

And I do believe that indoor hospitality is contributing to the deaths, why wouldn’t they?

The government have consistently got the travel arrangements wrong throughout this pandemic.
I have every sympathy for people working in this sector.

jet 2 have just informed me spain is going to change entery requirement from tomorrow requiring full vaccination status or a negative pcr test.so now with only 2 days to go we have to scrambe trying to get pcr tests for the grandkids its a fucking clusterfuck

Yes I work near there and walk most lunch times around the terminals.
All 3 airports are dead and planes just being left to rot.
Its so sad and I don't see this situation improving.

Going Tenerife in October for 3 weeks and as an alternative I looked at accommodation in a UK seaside resort and it was approximately £1k more to holiday here. Add to that the cost of trains etc makes it a no for me. The uk is okay for the odd few days but having lived in most areas on the south coast and Devon there are few I enjoy returning to. The main drawback in this country is the unpredictable weather.

Exactly. It’s lovely if you’re rich live down south not far away by car and have a 2nd home there so can go when the weather is nice. For anyone that isn’t in that position, it’s an expensive gamble with the weather.
