Agree to some extent. They have had it tough during the pandemic, just at a time when they'd spent a lot on new rides and areas in the parks (e.g. Galaxy's Edge). So I suppose they have to claw some money back somehow.

Whilst it will always be great going to Florida and WDW, and there have been some great new additions over the last 10 years, there are things about the overall experience that make it less attractive to some extent:-

1. The genie app and paid fast passes as you mention above.
2. As mentioned yesterday, TUI now flying to Melbourne rather than Sanford (tbf, we generally used Virgin and Thomas Cook and flew into Orlando, but it's still a poor decision by TUI). We went with Thomas Cook the last few times and it was an excellent service. Shame they've gone.
3. The Disney Magical Express from the airport is no more. OK, we'll have to get a taxi now. No big deal, but it was a nice service they put on.
4. The prices keep going up.

They let loads of staff go mate plus their profits are huge anyway, they are just turning into greedy bastards Walt would be spinning in his grave, it’s turning into a playground for the rich, just look at the cost for the Galactic Starcruiser experience, £4k for a family of 3 for 2 nights, at what basically is a load of people in costumes, now that’s taking the piss.

I haven't been on a foreign holiday for nearly 20 years, I have been abroad on business etc but not for a holiday.

The only crowds I like are football crowds, touristy places are horrible and I can't afford Necker Island.

Each to their own fella but I cherish some of the places I have been to round the world. Some truly beautiful and inspiring places even if touristy.

A couple of hours ago we were on a pretty deserted beach in Antigua. A young lad approached asking for sponsorship for his local football team. Bollocks I thought till he stated that his favourite team were....City and his favourite player Raz, as he too was born in Jamaica. We sat chatting for a while and he was actually pretty knowledgeable about City but hadn't see the highlights of yesterday. I introduced him to the city website and he watched the highlights on the beach, remarking on Cancelo's fantastic pass more than anything else. He's now got $20 plus my lucky City shirt which was only a few minutes away in the hotel and which brought a tear to his eye when he put it on-stating I'll need to take it in a bit". My Missus thinks I've gone soft, but I actually feel really good about the whole experience.
