Covid and travel discussion

slowly falling out of love with Disney, will probably go one last time in 2023, but the changes to fast pass, Genie plus and the paying for big rides is just pure greed. Chapek has a lot to answer for.
Agree to some extent. They have had it tough during the pandemic, just at a time when they'd spent a lot on new rides and areas in the parks (e.g. Galaxy's Edge). So I suppose they have to claw some money back somehow.

Whilst it will always be great going to Florida and WDW, and there have been some great new additions over the last 10 years, there are things about the overall experience that make it less attractive to some extent:-

1. The genie app and paid fast passes as you mention above.
2. As mentioned yesterday, TUI now flying to Melbourne rather than Sanford (tbf, we generally used Virgin and Thomas Cook and flew into Orlando, but it's still a poor decision by TUI). We went with Thomas Cook the last few times and it was an excellent service. Shame they've gone.
3. The Disney Magical Express from the airport is no more. OK, we'll have to get a taxi now. No big deal, but it was a nice service they put on.
4. The prices keep going up.

Yes the genie thing is a kick in the balls. I think we will use it on one day of our trip only. Won't be paying for any of the new style fast pass rides though.

really wished you were right
sandbox is for fully vaccinated travellers outside of the 63 countries allowed to enter under the 1 night test and go system

sandbox programme, you still need to be double jabbed, which our 14 year is unable to do

Suggest you contact the TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) they are very helpful.
I did and this was their reply, hope it helps…..

Hello, we regret to inform you that for the Exemption from Quarantine scheme (one night), all persons aged 12 or over must have a vaccination certificate confirming that they have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days before their travel in order to be able to enter Thailand.

However, an unvaccinated 14-year-old child arriving from the U.K. can enter in Sandbox Programme, due to the condition is all persons aged 18 or over must have a vaccination certificate confirming that they have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days before their travel in order to be able to enter Thailand. Therefore, unvaccinated 14-year-olds traveling with their families can enter in Sandbox Programme instead.

that is news to me and my Thai mrs
the Thais will tell you anything they believe you want to hear
its on none of their websites in English and Thai what you have just posted.

just read on twitter now
Tat ,have posted the 1 night stay while you're waiting for your pcr test result might take up to 48 hours now ! so you'd have to pay the expensive government approved hotel an extra nights payment

EDIT

Can i also just say
what you have been told
totally contradicts what our email that we got from the Thai embassy in London said,
We have to go to their embassy on dec 14 th for my mrs to renew her passport, hopefully we will find out 100 % what all the criterias are then.

Iv seen both of them already
but we have been told the opposite from the Thai embassy

Regulations constantly changing, you can enter through the sandbox scheme. You stay at one of the SHA+ hotels for the first 7 days, not quarantine as such as you are free to travel Phuket.

We are going under the Test and Go scheme hopefully just wait 8 hours for test result
Shitting it for the test on Sunday at Edinburgh Airport though
Trying my best to be careful

Berlin booked for 12th Jan. Seriously doubting it'll happen
