Covid and travel discussion

We have just been on a pretty deserted beach in Antigua. A young lad approached asking for sponsorship for his local football team. He stated that his favourite team were....City and his favourite player Raz, as he too was born in Jamaica. We sat chatting for a while and he was actually pretty knowledgeable about City but hadn't see the highlights of yesterday. I introduced him to the city website and he watched the highlights on the beach, remarking on Cancelo's fantastic pass more than anything else. He's now got $20 plus my lucky City shirt which was only a few minutes away in the hotel and which brought a tear to his eye when he put it on-stating I'll need to take it in a bit". My Missus thinks I've gone soft, but I actually feel really good about the whole experience.
I'm jealous that you are in Antigua. Where are you staying?

This is from my email from the Thai Embassy London a few weeks ago

"

Dear Sir/Madame,

Thank you very much for the email regarding children traveling to Thailand.

Unvaccinated children under 12 years travelling with vaccinated parents may enter Thailand under the same conditions as their parents.

Travelers with the ages above 12 years old who have not fully vaccinated are required to be quarantined of 10 nights. If they are traveling with parents, parents can be quarantined with the same number of quarantines nights with their children.

Only one dose of vaccination is not considered as fully vaccination except Janssen "
Not read previous posts, but if you need to get your kids a second dose in order to travel, you can get it done in Ireland. We’ve just flown our kids over and back for the same reason. Registered them a week before and appointments lined up no problem. All legal/above board as long as you can quote a place you’re staying in Ireland when registering (Hotel or friends address). Don’t need to be an Irish citizen.

its too late for him to get double jabbed now anyway, with the 12 week gap required from 1 st to 2 nd jab,my mrs was adamant he wasn't being jabbed.
Just waiting for my pcr result today now,iv been double vaccinated and had the booster but tested positive with 3 lateral flow tests yesterday.

Don’t need a 12 week gap. To get 2nd dose of Pfizer there needs to be a 21 day gap (In Ireland and elsewhere…UK is the outlier), and you probably need 14 days between 2nd dose and arriving in country of destination. You still have time if heading away at Christmas.

I've filled in a locator form for Poland, but there is no QR code on it.
Says the form is complete and give me a validation number.
Anyone know if that's right?

I haven't been on a foreign holiday for nearly 20 years, I have been abroad on business etc but not for a holiday.

The only crowds I like are football crowds, touristy places are horrible and I can't afford Necker Island.

I have just had four weeks away recently and God and bloody covid willing I will be away for six weeks over Christmas and New Year.

I love the holidays but absolutely dread and detest the airport and flights. Queues too long with not enough staff at the airports. Then four hours or more cooped up in a tin can trapped with people, the majority of whom I'd spend no time with by choice even if offered good money to do so is torture. After three short breaks in this country once covid restrictions were lifted though I will grin and bear the former as the latter is an ever more miserable experience, mainly due to the awful weather.
