Covid: Personal views

eh? you said I was being idiotic because some have a mental issue with taking the vaccine without satisfying themselves it is safe to do so beforehand
If people have "mental issues" with taking a vaccine, or an injection, or just some medicine, then they should take it up with their psychologist who I'm sure will tell them to shut up and roll their sleeves up, albeit in a professional way.

I'm just finding it really hard to believe that all of the "I won't have it unless I know what's in it" types have applied this logic consistently throughout their life. People who've previously paid no attention whatsoever to the crap that goes into their food, the drugs that are pumped into the animals they eat and the medicines they've taken throughout their lives. When a doctor prescribes these people a drug do they look up how long it's been out or even bother to read the side effects? So why now?

People who ate horsemeat lasagne in blissful ignorance and people who will be tucking into chlorinated chicken next year. People who take class A drugs on the weekend. Suddenly now they say "I won't have something unless I know what's in it". What a weird time to suddenly become curious about this kind of thing when it could save millions of people's lives and livelihoods.

I think you have it wrong. Don't think anyone gives a shit what is in it as it would be probably be meaningless. What they want to know is, are there any unknown side effects not yet found

Have they asked those questions about other drugs they take? How long has it been out? What are the side effects? I just don't believe they have.

You need to stop clumsily lunging for the moral high ground with every post.

Is your "mental issue" with all medicines, all injections or just vaccines?
Im not clamoring for any ground. No one is questioning or trying to ridicule those willing to take the vaccine at first opportunity, so why is it you and others feel the need to call out those who think differently?

I am of a very sound mind nor am I an idiot, but I will take the vaccine when I am happy to do so i.e when I am satisfied it is safe, not because some posters on bluemoon are trying to pressure me to.

I have someone very close to me who does have severe mental issues, who is also not an idiot, but that person needs a lot of convincing that the vaccine is safe for her to take.

I struggle to understand how you can call people like that being idiots.

We only need 70% of a population to be vaccinated.
I hope not more than 30% have severe mental issues, so we don't even need to bother or convince that group.

If the majority of a population is totally against vaccines we should find that out BEFORE spending billions for R&D.
Regular lockdowns will do a similar job.
