It was good on Saturday.

Domestic and European aways are completely different things, so I won't mention Munich, Salzburg or Poznan (or even Barca!)

Last season had some of the best away days - Blackpool, Fulham, West Ham and Newcastle stand out in the league, with Notts County in the cup also being top. Villa was a top day out as well actually, despite the result!

Others that stand out over the years include:

West Ham first game of the season under Sven.
Middlebrough 8-1.Everton 2-1 when Robinho and Ireland scored.
Sunderland away Johnson last minute equaliser.
Beating United at OT.

If I hadn't been too hungover I'm sure sticking 6 past Burnley would have been up there!

The 8-1 Middlesbrough sticks out fer me as well mate. When we left it was balmy weather and most of us had dusted down the Bermuda's. Cue arriving in smogland with all the locals in overcoats and frosty the snowman mittens. Fcukin freezin!

Funny as fcuk getting a burger outside (I think we left at 7-0), when City got one back and we all legged it back towards the ground shouting something like "its Wembley '99 happenin again, we're back in this"..

I used to like Grimsby away, the weather was always awful but it was another ones of those places we'd take over. First time I went we walked up to a pub just past the ground on the main road and we thought "we'll try in here see if there are any blues" and before we even got to the door all you could hear from inside was "I'VE GOT A DOG WHOSE NAME IS ROVER..." Went in that same boozer every time after that and always packed with City.

West Brom was similar one away day, walked a bit away from the ground looking for a pub thinking they'd be full of home support, walked past one pub and all you can hear is "THE NEVILLE FAMILY, DUH DUH DUH DUH..." Needless to say we popped in!

Blackburn away 2000 was probably the best day though, beatiful day, City everywhere and from the walk from Darwen towards ground I think I saw one Blackburn fan, and he got a huge cheer from those at the boozer under the motorway!

I am going to come up with a different away game, Swindon in the second division.
Two cars with 10 in to Cheltenham, meet up with Pat and the Cheltenham branch for a couple of pints, coach to Swindon and pre match drinks in Allied Dunbar social club right near the ground.
Day started to get better here, the staff seemed to give us more change than the notes were worth every time we went to the bar or bought food, at one point 4 of the 10 were getting change.
Got into the ground and we had bought seats for the main stand. Two of the oldest with us decided to have handbags with the Swindon fans and we were escorted out, on the Monday Chris Bailey writing in the Evening News commented on the stupidity of some City fans in the main stand. Though the escorted us out of the stand they took us straight back in and sat us next to the directors box. My lad who was 11 was with us and got cold, the directors were great and gave him a blanket. Game over and back to Cheltenham for a brilliant night out.
What made it was a few weeks later we were walking into the main stand at Grimsby and as we walked through the car park David Bernstein saw us and said, I saw you lot at Swindon, behave yourselves, we did.
This will not strike a chord with many but the laughs we had have come back up at least once a month ever since.

juventus last year. Went to pup outside away end after the game. Top night with none stop singing. Flight cancelled next day and had to stay an extran day

stoke away , trevor francis debut , won the game 3-1 , and he notched a couple , the best debut i have seen by a city player , until aguero against swansea.

I remember some years ago when we beat Wednesday 3-1 at a sunny Hillsborough, with I think White scoring a hat trick. City played some brilliant stuff on the floor that day and with everyone including Vonk and Flitcroft having such great games, the atmosphere with the 5,000 Blues having a laugh and singing virtually non-stop was magical. It was also my first time at Hillsborough and couldn't believe the sheer size of their Kop End, it was great to out sing them!

love aways at hillsborough, always a great laugh and great atmosphere. Sheff utd is different - we drew there a few years back, scoring in the last couple of minutes....had to run from the main stand to avoid the haymakers!

'skuse me, skuse me, skuse me!

brilliant on saturday from start to finish but it has to be blackpool away last season for me... hotel fri afternoon to mon tea... joey blowers merry england bar saturday afternoon, the manchester sunday, the weather, the totty, blues everywhere, the result... quality!!!
