Craig Bellamy

its not at all a case of nice guy = bad footballer but you've come to the opinion of "He's a twat" and that seems to be the main sticking point as to why you dont want him.

It's one of the reasons. The other that he's not nearly worth what we'll pay in wages and transfer fee. And he'll take the place in the squad of someone that will be a better football, a better influence on the team and an eminently more liekable person.

And you're saying the qualities i mentioned (Prem Experience/Experience of Hughes/Qualities our strikers don't have) are wrong? As far as i'm aware he's spent all of his career in the UK, has played for Hughes at B'burn and is the only striker, if we were to purchase him, that would make runs in behind the defense, would use his pace to his advantage and could also use the channels out wide. So, imo, he has all the "qualities" i mentioned earlier.

I'm saying that having prem experience, experience of working under Hughes and having different qualities to our current forwards don't mean that someone will be a good addition to the team.

If you think he's average - fine, i'm not here to argue that point, it's your opinion and i don't have any reason to change it. But, for me, being an idiot comes second to doing the business on the pitch, if he does i'll support him, if he doesn't ill concentrate my support on the team.

There we agree to differ.

But, i wont loose any sleep if we dont sign him, he's hopefully one of a long number of players we're looking at that can come and help us out in the second half of the season. Regardless of thier persona off the field, if they can do a job, i'll welcome them to our club.

There we agree to differ. And my dislike of Bellamy is not confined to what he does off the pitch. Far from it.

Well surely he is better up front than what we currently have?

I wouldn't say so. He's scored 2 in 14 this season, 4 in the last two years.

Yeah, but do you not think we are lacking a bit of fight in ALL areas at the moment mate?

I don't think it's the difference between winning and losing, we're lacking a lot of things at the moment.

And (I'll say it again) for all Craig Bellamy's fight, West Ham, a team in a similar position to ours are doing better when he doesn't play than when he does.

Fair enough pal, just I was brought up on the Doyles, Buzzers and Frannies of this world and possibly Tueart who were all prepared to leave a foot in for City's cause. At the moment we are to mard in my opinion.

I'd love to get someone like that. And in the big wide world of football I'd be fairly hopeful of finding one or two over the next month.

Just not that one.

I agree!! But deep down I want us to have a lot more fight- That era may never come again- I saw Tuearts debut v Scum 13/03/74 and him Sumerbee and Doyle (before red card) did everything I expect from MCFC players!!!
