It’s probably for the best :SBloody hell! I’ve blanked that out totally.
Just seen his scores. That’s probably why I’d forgotten! It’s probably for the best :S
Apart from Root and maybe one of the fast bowlers, I’m not sure any of our current side would make the ‘05 Ashes winning team. And yes, I do rate peak Freddie more highly than Stokes.
This has 5-0 written all over it (assuming nothing happens over Covid) and we’re not even playing a particularly strong Australian unit.
Tut tut Mr Tash.Bloody hell! I’ve blanked that out totally.
Mea culpaTut tut Mr Tash.
Interesting thought on the keeper. Jones did get some valuable runs but his glove work was ropey.I'd swap Bell for Root and Geraint Jones for Buttler. I'm struggling to know where to squeeze Stokes in though. Possibly to replace Vaughan as he wasn't in particularly good form that series.
The bowling looks fairly even with maybe a slight advantage for the 2005 team if Simon Jones is fit. The top order batting is levels above the current squad with the likes of Strauss, Trescothick and Pietersen.
